I held my Boxer while the vet put him down. Just slipped a needle into his leg - squirt - he was gone straightaway. It broke my heart. I cried my eyes out.

i recently put my cat to sleep, she was called Storm too...take care x

Storms Girl, I really feel for you right now. It is the worst job in the world to let your beloved pet go even when you know you are doing the right thing. My last time was last year when my darling cat who was 19 took her final journey to the vet. I have to say that my vet was absolutely wonderful, she gave her a sedative first so that we could have a few minutes of cuddles and it really made such a difference to previous visits. I would recommend this if possible. I cried almost non stop for a week and still sometimes now but it does get easier. Please come back and let us know how you are.

I'm so sorry. Its the kindest thing you can do for you boy, even though it hurts like hell at the time of making such a brave decision. I cant imagine how your feeling right now, take care, and give your boy a gentle hug from me.

Its 4.30 in the morning I cannt sleep nor can Storm he keeps looking at me hes knows im sad,stupid thoughts are going through my mind may be the vet will say he can make it all better,but I know what I have to do. Storm has started to cough blood and wees and poohs himself hes to proud of a dog to be like this, keep wishing hell fall a sleep and not wake up.This is so hard but you all are helping me,its good to know there are still good people in the world. THANK YOU

its awful isnt it losing a pet, i think i am only a few weeks maybe days behind you in putting our rottie to sleep. he is 11 and his back end has gone, he can`t stand straight to even have a wee and has totally gone off his dog food, he is surviving on titbits of chicken when and if we can get him to eat and has lost so much weight. its heartbreaking to see once healthy bouncing energetic pet with no glimmer of interest in their eyes in food or anything...all he wants to do is sleep bless him. what do you do though what can you do but the best thing for your pet. my thoughts will be with you later on although upsetting you are doing the right thing...angchris xx

I'm a cat person, but my heart goes out to you today. Nothing I can say can take the pain away but you know it is the last loving thing you can do for Storm.Be brave for your beautiful big boy, let your tears flow and let him live on on your heart. Be strong

just stay with him and talk to him and uddle him, your doing the right thing storm girl, would your vet consider coming to you instead you can ask them to.
just love him like you always do and be there for him, he knows you love him
