Good Bye To My Beautiful Boy

Hi to every one who has loved and has been loved by a ROTTWEILLER. I have the honour to say I have and I am loved by these beautiful animals.Sadly tommrow morning we have to bring my beautiful boy STORM to the vet to be put to sleep,he is 10 years old, 4 weeks on Tuesday he slipped on wet grass and broke his back leg, he had an op 2 weeks ago to have a pin put in his bone he stayed with the vet for 1 week and didnt get the care I thought he would get. When he stopped eating the vet called to say it didnt look good so we went to bring him home and found him lying in a cage with 2-3 inches of his urine his back end was covered him his pooh, he was in abad way. When we got him home we bed bathed him and made him as comfortable as we could, he had very bad bed sores his breathing has got worse from saturday night I can see in his eyes that he can`nt take no more so today is the last day I have with my big beautiful boy who has given me 10 beautiful happy years. Being in debt, banks charging stupids fees leaving me with 0 in the bank does`nt seem to matter anymore.I just wanted everyone to know that I am proud to say that I was part of STORMS life thank you and go be free love you for ever stormie boy****++++

• oh I am so, so sorry to hear this - but remember, you are doing him the ultimate kindness by ensuring he suffers no longer, which is only fair for such a loyal and faithful friend.

Will you be staying with him at the end? I took our old boy Duke years ago, and couldnt bear to stay with him, so I let him go off wth the vet (I was only a teenager) - I wish I had gone in now, but then again, he was one of those dogs who loved going to the vets (much like my current and last dogs) so I hope he was ok. However, in hindsight, it would have been better for me to know he was ok.

Best wishes for you at this sad time

so sorry to read this, we lost our rottie in feb due to illness, (he was only two), we have since rescued two more as the house was too quite but max will always be in our hearts and remembered forever.

If I Could Talk

You're giving me a special gift,
So sorrowfully endowed,
And through these last few cherished days,
Your courage makes me proud.

But really, love is knowing
When your best friend is in pain,
And understanding earthly acts
Will only be in vain.

So looking deep into your eyes,
Beyond, into your soul,
I see in you the magic, that will
Once more make me whole.

The strength that you possess,
Is why I look to you today,
To do this thing that must be done,
For it's the only way.

That strength is why I've followed you,
And chose you as my friend,
And why I've loved you all these years...
My partner 'til the end.

Please, understand just what this gift,
You're giving, means to me,
It gives me back the strength I've lost,
And all my dignity.

You take a stand on my behalf,
For that is what friends do.
And know that what you do is right,
For I believe it too.

So one last time, I breathe your scent,
And through your hand I feel,
The courage that's within you,
To now grant me this appeal.

Cut the leash that holds me here,
Dear friend, and let me run,
Once more a strong and steady dog,
My pain and struggle done.

And don't despair my passing,
For I won't be far away,
Forever here, within your heart,
And memory I'll always stay.

I'll be there watching over you,
Your ever faithful friend,
And in your memories I'll run,
...a young dog once again.

This has got to be one of the hardest things you have to do in life, last year we had to do it twice with out little ones and it is heartbreaking, my thoughts are with you I truly understand what you are going through.

I am so sorry to hear that. I have a rottie cross and they are such affectionate dogs that fill the house with love.
You are such a kind friend to be helping him put and end to his pain.
