Wavin' to all the other PF sufferers. I had it about 8 or 9 years ago, and it's recently returned
I do wear Crocs a lot, as they provide a cushioned base - but what are MBT's?

These are they http://www.swissmasai.co.uk/Default.aspx?lang=en-GB
I second others high opinion of FlyFlot shoes if you suffer with heel pain - some styles are better than others.
Fitflops are another option.
Personally I find it helpful to roll my feet backwards and forward (on at a time of course!) over a tin of beans. (easiestst to do this if you're sitting down) It helps surprisingly well!!:wave:0 -
I've had this for a couple of years now, there's a slight discomfort all the time and every now and then my foot flares up and it's really painful. The only thing that I've found to help is good fitting shoes, in the winter I wear walking shoes that support the arch of the foot and in the summer I wear either flyflots or birkenstock type sandals. Birkenstocks are quite expensive but quite a few shops sell sandals with the same type of sole, where it's molded at the toes & heel. My SIL got a lovely pair of sandals last week from Asda for £10 that had a sole almost identical to a pair of birkenstocks I'd been looking at.Dum Spiro Spero0

I got PF at xmas time and it kills me to wear flat shoes for any period of time. I never thought I would see the day when it was more comfortable to wear heels than flats. I got inserts from boots which were on a moneysaving special offer at the time and have worn loads of high heels. It is now hardly bothering me but was so painful at the start. If you always do what you have always done, you will always get what you always got!0

My daughter has a pair of fitflops and she thinks they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, However she says it does take a bit of getting used to them. She has had some foot trouble and has orthotics from the hospital but cannot use them with her fitflops but doesnt seem to need to. I am looking for a pair from a shop, dont really want to get them off the net as i like to try them on befor i buy. I have foot and knee problems so thought they may help me too. Does any one know if the shops at Cheshire oaks sell them as we will be visiting one day next week.0

This is my second summer with my pair of FitFlops and I'm the same as your daughter, they are fab for my feet, so comfortable and well worth the money! I honestly don't think you won't like themHonorary Northern Bird bestowed by AnselmI'm a Board Guide and volunteer to help get your forum questions answered and keep the forum running smoothly on Special Occasions, Green/Ethical, Motoring/Overseas/UK Travel & Flood boards, it's not part of my role to deal with reportable posts. I've found strapping my foot has bought the best relief this summer - had it strapped for just over a week, and it dissapeared - result! Please forgive me if my comments seem abrupt or my questions have obvious answers, I have a mental health condition which affects my ability to see things as others might.0

i too suffered from this a couple of years ago, thank god my best pal at the time was a chiropodist and when i moaned to her she instantly told me what she thought it was and i went straight to my GP (she worked in his practise) i never told him what she thought, but he said straight away that it was PF especially as it was the worst first thing in the morning...i always wear flat shoes, but found the only relief i could get was by wearing high heels (it took some pressure off) and smearing felderene (which i think is prescription only now) and voltarol..it took about 6 months before it began to subside, after a few months it seriously got me quite down and i just told my partner that if i didn't have to be on my feet then i wouldn;t be!! every now and again i feel the sensation of it coming back (i do a lot of dancing and always on my feet) and i sh*t myself as i dont want to suffer that pain again..
i'm really sorry for those of you suffering right now..good luck and i hope you get relief soon.totally a tog!:D0 -
I have this too, in one foot. Its not been diagnosed by a doctor but my friend told me what she thought it was as its the most common cause of pain in the heel. After looking it up, its definitely PF. Do the night splints really work? It all seems so hit and miss, not to mention expensive!“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0

I've been suffering for about two months now, waiting for referral to the podiatry clinic but not sure how much help they can give. Have bought some fitflops today as I read they can offer some relief, I can but hope! Am sick of feeling like an old lady every time I get up. One thing I have read is that it's best to rest apart from necessary daily movement, bit reluctant to not exercise though, has anyone else kept on exercising or did you stop to help recovery?
Are the splints worthwhile (I'm not that good with diy, don't think I've got anything at home I can knock some up with!)0
