Hi i have looked on www.entitledto.co.uk and it came back that i have no benefits coming to me BUT !!! i was just wanting to ask in here ifany of you guys can let me know of anything else i might be missing.
I'm employed full time.
Single.
No Children.
I have a home and Mortgaged.
BUT !!! i earn around £16000 year i spend about 75 % of my wages on Bills & Mortgage So i class myself as a low income earner with what i have left to spend. i have no Central Heating and as winter is looming i'm desperate for a combi. I'd like to know is there ANY benefit or help i can get to solve this. Unfortunately im not an Immigrant, i'm a working, tax paying UK citizen and from looking for benefits i dont see the logic in being refused ANY BENEFIT in my circumstances.
Thank you for ur help in Advance

You're not going to like this, but the hard facts are that you probably can't afford to put heating in your your house on your current income and outgoings. Benefits aren't there to help people who've overstretched themselves financially, otherwise we'd all be buying places we can't afford and expecting the government to pick up the tab. £16,000 is a good income for a single person, my family of four lives on 24k and recieves very little else, and we consider ourselves comfortable. Surely when you bought your house you looked at your income and expenditure to see if it would balance? We did and realised we couldn't afford to buy, so we'll rent privately until our income increases/prices drop significantly.
I'm afraid your only options are to live without c/h, to reduce your outgoings, or to increase your income. Could you take a second job? Look at the grocery challenge/other ways of saving? Take a lodger or two?
I don't mean to sound harsh, but it does look as if you couldn't afford to buy, good luck anyway.Anytime;)0 -
Oh look another racist, quick to blame but quick to opt out of any responsiblity.0

So you have 25% to spare, I cant see a problem there.
I do not see what immigrants have got to do with it.
You have a reasonable income so I cant see why you would get any benefit.0 -

A fair comment I'd say.
16K is a reasonable income. OP join the club we're all tightening our belts, paying tax, etc. etc. Sorry to be unsympathetic.
Trying to be constructive - post your SOA on the DFW board, they will help rationalise your income to expenditure and flag up areas you can save in/on.
Why on earth would you think that you're entitled to support because you're living beyond your means.
There are many families with kids struggling to get by on this wage.0 -

What YOU class yourself as is irrelevant. You've CHOSEN to put yourself in this situation by taking on a mortgage that you are obviously struggling to service. It's a little bit galling however that you think this entitles you to benefits assistance above an "immigrant" who has nothing – no job, no home, no money, nothing!
Have you considered getting a lodger? Currently you can earn up to £4,250pa tax free through this scheme. Obviously you would need to ensure you had some heating in place but the initial outlay would be paid for by the rent from your lodger...
