  • Oh, yes, like a well-oiled machine! :rotfl: :rotfl::rotfl:

    Seriously tho, I do think caring responsibilities for an elderly relative are just as important as for children, and should be allowed! But that's just my soapbox;)!
  • i hope they dont take it as im the only one in our family that doesnt work and shes got anginar, diabeties and heart and breathing problems but likes to do her shopping herself, she wont give me a list to do it as she still wants that bit of independance. i take her to her doctors and hospital appointments, which are nearly every week. she also has slight panic attacks when she goes out alone but i think thats cause she worries incase she gets ill and faints while shes on her own so it sort of causes it

  • Tell the OR all that if he queries the car. I can't see how he could justify taking it, tbh. If your nan doesn't get out at all without you taking her then the car is necessary for her hospital appts etc. Hope all goes well! CBx:D

  • I wouldn't worry too much.
    When I went BR in April my OR asked about my car and said that they were't intrested in a car unless it was worth more than £2000 and then it would depend on the circumstances. I was allowed to keep mine as it was only just on the £2000 and there was a few problems with it, but also i needed it for work.
    Hope this helps and good luck

    firstly dont worry I went bankrupt in june 2008. Is the car worth less than £1500. If so you should be ok, my car was worth £900 and im a single mum i was also working untill a few weeks ago but still need a car for my children just incase there ill as I live alone. As for changing your name on the car when you go throught the bankrupcy form the will ask you if you have dissposed of any assets in the last 12 month or so. So becareful that you dont get caught out. The CCCS talked me throught all the bankrupsy and were great. And going to the Court was that bad and I didnt have to see the Judge. good luck i will try and chat if you need more help...x
  • thanks viv17 and behappysmile, ive put it down on the form as an asset and also put my nan down as a dependant and explained she needs me to get out and about to doctors/hospital appointments and shopping otherwise she would be practicly housebound. i checked the parkers guide and it ranges from £400-£700 depending on poor to good but does need a few bits doing to it. but even if they do decide to take it my dad said he will just keep the next one in hes name as my nan depends on me to much to not have a car
