Quick way of transfering money?

I got a partial answer when I phoned my bank today. Because the transfer did not indicated it would go the same day I sent it (indicated day after) this means the receiving account could not accept it, I was told.
In any case, I was told, for that much money it wouldn't have gone FP anyway as it needs to go through security checks. Perhaps also because the receiving account was not in my name.
I did a transfer to my Northern Rock from my LTSB account and that went by FP as NR indicated when I phoned, and the LTSB statement indicated FPO. It even gave the time! This current payment indicates BP (Bill Payment) online. Only quick guaranteed way would have been CHAPS for £35, by phone. Wish I'd done that now as it is going to be several days and it will miss the date I intended.0 -
I did an online payment (£250 so not megabucks) from OH's Lloyds a/c to my NatWest a/c at about 11.30 this morning (he did authorise this but is computer phobic so I do all the finances). I've just checked and it hasn't even left his account yet, and the details show it is scheduled for 9/11, which surprises me as that is a Sunday
. I did a similar transfer a few weeks ago and it was there in a couple of hours.
They do move in mysterious ways don't they?I haven't bogged off yet, and I ain't no babe
