You may have to send the funds via a standard variable rate Web Saver or your Halifax current account...assuming you have/can get one or the other.
EDIT: See http://www.halifax.co.uk/savings/forms/generic_sav_app/forms/pdfs/WS-TC-final.pdf (condition 29)0 -
Yeah I've got the ultimate and a standard variable! I think I might give them a ring and close it down; then do the transfer0

One other thing (sorry) does anyone know if you can close a websaver down via the telephone?0

My BM funds are on their way to Egg for a 6.3% fix (further deposits allowed and no withdrawal penalties)...unless I can catch another 7% 3 month fix with Halifax on Wednesday.
Also relatively little in that. Most of it in the OHs BM esaver(2). But I need to keep most of that 'liquid' .... as I tied up a chunk with Anglo-Irish (7.05%) for the next year.
But I do have tomorrow to review what I need in cash for the rest of the year .... so a bit more tied up might be the result? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -

I've done it when their system has been playing up. You can close the standard variable online (but you need that to create the fixed?) .... but possibly the 'extra' will only close via their online Help desk .... if that's the issue? If you want to test the depth of the water .........don't use both feet !0 -
According to the Halifax website the 7% AER 3 month fixed product is being withdrawn this coming Friday 7th November 2008.0

Yorkshire Boy, are you sure there are unlimited deposits and no withdrawal penalties on the Egg fixed rate??0
-
Don't forgot it's 7% AER which is 6.82% Gross for the 3 months.
As i've said before they really should make that a little clearer.0
