Hiya,
Flew out to Turkey last week and returned today to Bristol .
Couldnt believe how little legroom between seats, im not exactly huge at 5' 11 but that had to be the most uncomfortable 4 hrs i have ever had on a plane. In the last couple of years ive flown easyjet, ryanair, xl airways and firstchoice and im sure you get much more room on allm of these.
Any Comments ?
Cheers.......

Thomas Cook are amonst the worst for seat pitch, best to book an extra legroom seat, although I did this on my holiday to Kos in September, they overbooked on the way back, so no extra legroom seat available, not a happy passenger!0

We flew to and from Cyprus with Thomas Cook, definately the worst flight for leg room I have ever experienced. We are frequent flyers and have used lots of airlines - Virgin, BA, Easyjet, BMI, Ryanair, First Choice and many more and would never fly with Thomas Cook again.0

OH,oh. I have booked with TC for the spring! They wanted £50 each for thoose extra leg room seats = £100 for the 2 of us  . That is for a mid term 4.5 hour flight to the Canaries. I declined but did pay the extra luggage thing. If winter comes, can spring be far behind?
Spring begins on 21st March.0 -
I think we flew on an airbus A320, hopefully you might have a different plane with more room unless thomas cook only use these- just another thought , im sure they fly to florida -ifso 9 hrs with them dosnt bear thinking about.OH,oh. The seat pitch (distance between the back support cushion of your flight seat and the back of the seat or other fixed structure in front of your seat) will not be less than the minimum stated in the UK Civil Aviation Authority’s Airworthiness Notice No.64, issue 2 of the 29th October 2001 (i.e. at least 26 inches).
The seat pitch varies dependant on the destination and cabin. Seat pitches can be anything from 28" to 35".0 -
Whatever people's perceptions of how awful one airline are over another, if you're traveling short haul then there really is little in it whoever you fly with. Thomas Cook's short haul seat pitch is the same as the other charter airlines: MyTravel (now the same company), Thomson and First Choice (now merged), XL (were the same), Monarch etc. They all fly the same aircraft types with very similar configs i.e. 233/235 seats in a Boeing 757, 180 seats in an A320 etc...
easyJet and Ryanair tend to be 29" give or take, the difference is hardly spectacular....0 -

Who told you that?? The wife? Size DOES matter, an inch can make all the difference
It all depends how you will make use of the inch; no? :beer:0 -
I was surprised that Ryanair have noticeable more leg room than the charter flight airlines.
It help that they don't have seat back pockets. The seats don't recline too - so the person in front cannot steal your space.
I am 6'1 and legroom does matter.0 -
I think seat comfort has more to do with the seat design rather than pitch and seats can vary a lot amongst aircraft types. I found the older cloth ryanair seats much more comfortable than the newer blue plastic ones.Posts are not advice and must not be relied upon.0
