:T got three samples in post this morning, a pot of face scrub, a pot of skin cream and face wash but that's in a doctor urine sample bottle, keep looking at it but unsure whether i'll be able to use it as keep thinking wee wee!! Just thought it'd be a good idea to bump it back up for all the newbies.

Hi - this may help you dawnfuller - as with Neals Yard, it would't be fair to abuse their generosity but if you need to try before you buy, Body Shop are really helpful too - before settling on the right aftershave balm for my son, they have given me numerous samples for him to try out in little pots over a period of two weeks - we had to check for a reaction as he has eczma as at 14 he wants to smell good and use toiletries but often has a reaction to products. The staff know their products/ingredients and are incredibly helpful.

  • I've just sent them an e-mail. This would be brilliant for me as I have sensitive skin and my mum has Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. If their products didn't affect her allergies I could use them, it's far to expensive for me to buy on the off-chance that they'd be OK.

Thanxs for this have jsut requested advice/sample for my daughter who has very bad lips - great find - not to be abused :naughty: as this can really help people in need - as someone previously said the products are too expensive to by on the off chance but if they work then worth every penny

    Hi,

I received 3 samples after sending them an email asking them for advice on what products I could use for my psoriasis.

They sent me a link to the 3 ranges they recommended for my skin and with a note that I could choose 3 samples. I sent off my request and within days the samples arrived. I am well pleased with the products, it's great to try before you buy.

I emailed them, they told me where my nearest branch was and suggested I go for a consultation there. No freebies for me! AND I wrote a good description of my skin and issues with it.

people reading this post are looking for free stuff. i shopped there last week and they have testers in their store, but i would not post a forum on the freebies board saying if you want free moisturiser, go into the neal's yard shop in borough and rub some on your face. anyone with common sense can see that after nyr get 50 emails from people angling for samples that they are going to feel abused and it is your fault for posting here.

The above is a bit harsh.

However, I do agree with the above. The people at Neal's Yard sent me a lovely email (like the OP, I have a whole host of skin problems!) and they've popped some samples in the post for me to test out, so I can see if I react to them or not. They're genuinely lovely people, so please don't abuse this offer. If you think you might buy from them in the future, by all means, drop them an email. But don't email for the sake of a quick freebie - I don't think they're the sort of company that could afford it en masse!

Well personally for me: I have odd skin. I am not sure why its odd, but it does react to certain creams by giving me whiteheads of puffy skin. Its annoying when it happens as I would rather know before forking out too much money, that a cream was going to cost me more in repair then it would itself.

I would rather not visit a store with testers others have all stuck dirty fingers in, and I also do not get a negative reaction with my skin until several uses (about 3 or 4 days) of use.

So whilst you cannot see the purpose in obtaining decent sized samples, some of us can.

I can see that the company getting many emails may feel "abused" but they don't have to mail out stuff, but there are genuine buyers out there who do respond to such freebies and go ahead and buy the said product- I could start a list here (DiorShow mascara, Tampax Pearl, Nuxe products, Lush products, Comfort, Persil...) but I'd be here all day.

Just because you may not buy the full sized product after a sample, does not mean everyone does the same. Freebies work on me.
