I have bought the magazine from ASDA. I went with my wife in the lunch break to get the freebie from Boots. No one was there at Elizabeth Arden's counter. There was three SA chatting at the next counter and were ignoring us. We went to them and asked about the eye shadow. They looked at the voucher and the snotty ignorant one said " It has sold out" I asked her if there are going to be any deliveries ans she said" No, because the counter is closing down in their branch" I said ok. My wife went to the counter and started trying some stuff there. I was looking at the shelves, trying to find our freebie, and I remembered one of you saying here that it is in a red box and I asked my wife to grab one of them boxes and see if it is the one. It was!!
We went back to the busy with talking girls and we tried to tell them that we might have found it.
The snotty one jumped and spoke loudly" This can not be free!"
I asked the other one to scan it, but the snotyy one kept saying " this one can not be free!, this can not be free!" loudly.
We ignored her and persuaded the other one to scan it.
When she did, it sacnned £10.00 and the snotty one started jumping in the air " I told you it can not be free, didn't I?!"
I asked the other one who scanned the item to scan the voucher and see what happen. She was hesitant. I urged her politely, but, firmly, to just scan it. When she did, there was silence! I started to smile, the snotty one's mouth dropped.
The other one said "Oh, it went through!"
I said " See, it can be free"
The snotty one got more snotty and said" Well, usually the freebies are small samples!"
I said " Yes, afterall, this item was sold out according to you!"
And she was angry and so nervous that when I said " do you want to know where to get this voucher from?"
She replied immediately " NO!, I don't want to!"
The other SA said" Yes, please!" I smiled and told her about the magazine.
Next time, I will not bother with Boots offers like this one, or at least if I have to go to this store.
Those who are going to get it, don't be put off by the example above. I am sure there are much nicer SA in Boots elsewhere.Be nice, life is too short to be anything else.0 -
She informed me I would have to have a 40 minute consultation AND purchase an item to collect my 'free' gift.
She is wrong, simply because ther is nothing in the terms and conditions on the coupon saying about purchasing something to get the freebie. The magazine says it is a free gift and the small print says an optional consultation. If I were you I would have pointed this out to her and if she was going for it then I MIGHT ( not sure if it was worth it) have asked to see the manager.
Try going in a different day and see if somebody else is there.Be nice, life is too short to be anything else.0 -
There were about 10 left in the drawer.. I had a two min consultation and she gave me some samples that she recommended as well as the eyeshadow. Painless and quick..

SWANSEA I tried on Monday (3rd november) but the EA assistant was 'at lunch' (at 2.45pm ???)and none of the Boots SAs were prepared to do anything to help.(now, I wonder why?;) ) Did wait about for 20mins,but had to go for a GP appt.
Went in again on Saturday but Swansea had totally run out on the 7th November and the EA assistant 'helpfully' reminded me 'it does say while stocks last'.
I took enormous pleasure in reminding her the mag coupon is dated as valid until 31st December, so lots of people will be asking! (I shall be one of them, every time I am passing)
What is the point of having such a well-publicised offer when the stocks are so skimpy? Hardly a positive advert for the companyI can cook and sew, make flowers grow.0 -
Hi, I have just filed for divorce but I gave it 6years before coming to this decision. I believe if you make it easier then people will see it as an easy route out, marriages need to be worked at, hard work. The divorce rate in this country is just ridiculous, I went to court to pick up some papers and the security guard there actually shocked me. He showed me a very big red container which had all the petition for divorce forms in and he stated matter of factly that they will all be gone within the week. In hes words, 'people might aswell not get married'. For this reason I believe that if people are given options which require them to think over what they are doing and why they are doing it some might realise that it is not the way out and realise what they are going to do. If you simply give a 'fell out of love' option then it may be tempting to take the easy route out than to work damn hard at your marriage.0
