KE Interest Arriving

  • Brilliant! Thanks for the heads up- just checked and transferred the £50 interest out. Wouldn't have looked otherwise!

Ing seem pretty good really, i'm considering transferring all mine back in.
  • Site still a little dodgy but got in and happy to report that my interest for last month has now been added. Can't comment on lost moneys since like the last poster I had left my money put - think I'll wait a bit longer before I make any decisions - I'll let the dust settle a bit more - I have no immediate concerns about Ing apart from their rates but we will see what happens.
Noobie (not so :D) trying to make loads a dosh - please bear with all my questions  Thanks :D

ING have managed hundreds of thousands of transfers from KE without problem. There have been a few hundred that have not gone smoothly for reasons not widely known.
I for one have not seen ING "blame everyone else for the problems they are now having". Unless you work for ING/KE/FSCS or The Treasury I doubt that you have any idea of the scale of the task taken on by ING when the job was handed to them.
Before you ask - no, I do not work for ING/KE/FSCS or The Treasury. I am just an ordinary punter caught up in this and the Icesave mess.
My KE money was left untouched when it all went wrong and I am very, very happy with the service provided to me by ING.

Maybe you'd like to look at the following threads (there are three of them because each one got too long and had to be re-started). Then consider how you'd feel if you'd been caught up in this, and still hadn't received your missing funds. ING have, until Friday, been blaming their clearing bank for the failure of the transactions. This is not true, as many of us have checked with RBS (ING's clearing bank), who state there have not been any problems their end.

Well said 10_66. bjorn_again is being a bit complacent because he wasn't affected by ING's incompetence and abysmal communications and lies.

The "few hundred" was almost certainly well into the thousands, and they most certainly were blaming everyone else.
  • I just checked the interest figure and it doesn't seem to include anything for the days when the money was missing. I didn't expect it to include this as I would think they have to do this calculation on a manual basis, as they will have to work out the number of days that the transfer took compared with the usual 3 days that it should have been. I transferred a big amount out on 7/10 which arrived in my linked account on 17/10 (10 days), so I guess they owe me 7 days interest? I'm not too bothered about missing interest though, I'm just glad to have my money back!

Haven't had my lost interest either. Transfer out of KE shown as 07/10 and interest to that date seems ok. But the cash didn't arrive at Lloyds till 17/10 so there's a 'gap'. Would be nice to get the extra £30 odd - but I was really worried at the time about losing the capital, so I can live with the way it's turned out.
  • Would you not agree that the problems have been caused by all the panic of peope rushing to remove their money therfore overstretching resources, and also perhaps preventing people who really needed their money for whatever reason from being able to get it because of the overstretched resources.

    Completely agree.
