We are going to buy our daugher the pink Sony Ericcson W910i this weekend, its for her birthday (she really likes it so wil give it a go, if it freezes as on some reports will be straight back to shop) I`ve looked at Orange website this morning and it says -
Free Christmas bos worth £25 wsith pay as you go phones from £49.99, checked it out and one comes with the above phone. They also have another thing called Free Unsigned Act Music Promotion with the same phone from 1 Nov to 31 Dec! not sure what this is?
They also say Free USB drumkit plus Sonly E speaker when you buy a pink 910i.
I`m not being greedy.... but unsure as to what we will get (think the Xmas Box is running with lots of other phones) but the other 2 things seem to be for this phone.
Please can anyone advise?
Thanks

Try putting it into your basket and see what it says as it usually tells you what comes with the phone? You can always remove later.0

it does seem to be a rather unreliable phone......
keyboard faults, freezing, problems textingEx forum ambassador

I know the reviews are pretty hit and miss, but she really likes it! assumed if it gave problems then I could take it back to the shop. (I`ve only ever bought cheap pay as you go phones for myself from lthe likes of Asda, this will be out first `proper` phone). If there is a problem surely Orange would sort it out!!
Thanks Edinburghlass I`ll put it in the basket and see what happens0 -
Freezing on Sony's is usually (but not always) down the the network branding software they bolt on. You can unbrand it back to the vanilla Sony software with a bit of software. If you google you'll find it. (if it still won't work, you can still take it back they never check for this...).0

totally unrelated but remember cashback! and are you sure about orange? asda/tesco are super cheap networks, and o2 is good if she has lots of friends on o2 (top up £10 month and you get unlimited texts to o2 numbers)
in my experience, sony ericssons are good, i dropped mine so many times and got it wet all the time and it survived for a good while.but the joystick did get v v dodgy by the end and it would turn off randomly. as long as you can take it back you'll be fine
i did with virgin

Thanks again for all the advice, I have just tried on the Orange site and you get the Xmas box and the usb drum kit and speaker - so every little helps. The phone is the pink one and only Orange do this colour!! the orange pay as you go £10 freee 300 texts and the 2 for one cinema tickets seems ok for he I think at the moment, as its her first phone not sure about what tarrifs and networks friends are on. Don`t want to commit to a monthly scheme.
I`d be doing a bit more shopping around if it was in the other shops. Never done cashback... where would I look for that? Thanks all0 -
If you are not set on Orange, my teenager is on Vodaphone and if they top up £5 in the week she gets free calls and text on Saturday and Sunday.

Hi, got the phone, the free Christmas Box and the USB drum kit and speakers!! so daughter came away with big bag from Orange and was very pleased. Not had chance to look in any of the boxes yet as she doesn`t want to open anything until her birthday on the 10th.0

if you put the generic SE software on it, you shouldnt have many problems unlike the rather buggy orange firmwares.0 -
Try the Sony Ericcson W595, slim slider but camera is slightly better.0
