The worst house we have ever viewed:
We were viewing houses, we saw one that looked as if it was what we were looking for - went to look at it - and it could have been on Kim & Aggie, in the bedrooms you could't see the floor for stuff, wardrobe doors hanging off, kitchen was disgusting, it was an absolute pigsty. The worst of it was when we knocked at the door it was opened by one of OH's work colleagues !!
The house wasn't what we were after anyway and at the end of the day it wouldn't have put me off, it did sell BTW.
During the same period we looked at a house that was a student let - that was pretty impressively sh*tty too, the living room was used as a bedroom - I think they often are in student lets.
The house we ended up buying was a bit of a state too, but we got a bargain.
I agree with GG give me £300 and you wouldn't recognise it.0 -

agreed- I was a social worker for a few years and saw some very squalid living conditions
Its my professional view that the chaos surrounding a person is the choas being played out in thier heads
people generally live like this because they simply feel they cannot control thier environments.
Ive seen a fair few people on KIm & Aggie who would definatley fall into this category
you're quite right,im a social worker and i cant even describe some of what ive seen
my best mate is a psychiatric nurse and some of the things she sees also would make your eyes water just hearing it let alone seeing it0 -
That TV prog a few years back with John Peel was educational; council peeps having to enter houses with 30+ cats, no rubbish thrown away for decades, phobias about using the toilet and, of course, the cadaver left undiscovered over the summer.0

And to think when I sold up last year I worried about having the place pristine!!!
I should have just waited for someone to 'see past' the kids' toys
I agree someone got a bargain with that bungalow....but I wouldn't fancy being the one who cleared it out :eek:Cross Stitch Cafe member No. 32012 170-194 2013 195-207.Hello Kitty ballerina 208.AVA 209.OLIVIA 210.ELLA 211.CARLA 212.LOUISE 213.CHARLEY 214.Mother & Child 215.Stop Faffing Completed 2014 216.Stitchers Sampler. 217.Let Them Be Small 218.Keep Calm 219. Correct. That is why I never lived in a proper student house... I need my separate space!!baileysbattlebus wrote: »During the same period we looked at a house that was a student let - that was pretty impressively sh*tty too, the living room was used as a bedroom - I think they often are in student lets.
I was thinking if life gets really bad though (credit crunch, inflation, etc) we'll rent out the 2nd bedroom. I would never give my living room up though. Neverrrrrrr!!Kavanne
