  • Nothing helpful to add but everytime I make non-bake bars they never set! I always end up with messy crumbs :(

Dunno what I'm doing wrong but now I stick to baked goodies :)
  • Try freezing it. Only problem is it might revert to crumbs once at your fête.

it is because you havenot used enough chocolate without a doubt

get a load of chocolate ( come on its not as if too much will make it taste bad) melt it down and re- crumble the rest of the Rocky road mix you already made then pour it all back in the tin with the fresh chocolate.

    will work

    xx

  • Add more chocolate with a few tablespoons of golden syrup, that's what my recipe has and it works really well
  • There are very few problems in this world that more chocolate cannot solve :) I'd go with all the other suggestions and melt some more.
  • I was wondering how long you left it to set before you turned it out? I know when I make one it takes at least 6 to 8 hours to get hard in the fridge. To correct your current problem I wouldmelt more chocolate, little butter and syrup and mix the old stuff in. Try the freezer, I know you could freeze it if you wanted to.

Easy peasy recipe or so it's meant to be! Taken from BBC web site. It said to set aside some of the chocolate mixture for the top , however when I took it off the heat to do that the mixture separated? So I have thrown everything in and hope for the best? It won't have a chocolate top but that's not too important!

Where did I go wrong? I have to say it never looked that smooth to begin with?

If you overheat chocolate, it can go thick and lumpy
