Can a HALTI help stop barking

I have read on here from someone that a halti dog lead can help stop barking when a dog is out walking. My dog is not at all aggresive, she just chooses tobark loads when walking.
I have tried spraying her with water, but this is just a game for her.
Any suggestions anyone
thanks

A halti can help barking as it can bring the dogs head back round but in those circs the dog is usually barking at something ie another dog, cyclist or whatever is their trigger so when you bring the dogs head towards you you distract them.
If your dog isn't barking at something or just barking through excitement then I don't think a halti would work......sorry0 -
Have you thought about seeing a dog trainer to help you find the cause of the problem before trying to fix it?

Unlike muzzles haltis leave the dogs mouths mostly free, so most dogs could still bark whilst wearing one.Mine bark with their mouths shut in their sleep, so it wouldn't work for them;)"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

A dog can still bark wearing a Halti if you are using it correctly. They are not that tight around the muzzle0

I think the only point of using a Halti HARNESS rather than head collar would be if he started to bark you could pull back on the lead which tends to lift their front feet off the ground and that would make him think twice about starting to bark (without hurting him at all) but tbh each dog has its own personality and hang ups and this sounds to me like a dog who is nervous. You could try a dog trainer or therapist - do you have a pet insurance policy that would cover the cost?0

My friend gets round this one by getting the dog to carry a tennis ball in its mouth while walking. Doesn't stop the noise completely (he sounds like a mad seal!) but it makes it a lot more bearable. All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I have a dog who barks at other dogs and it is annoying. He wears a halti but still barks. He is much improved since I took steps to train him. So if I see a dog approaching I get my dogs attention - you could use a treat or a toy. I then do my best to keep my dogs attention until we're passed the other dog. Usually it works and he doesn't woof. If your dog is barking at everyone and everything I would say they sound hyper so are they getting enough exercise? Or they sound very nervous so need to build up their social skills.0

My sister trained her dog who barked at everything by carrying a plastic drink bottle filled with a few pebbles with her. Whenever doggy barked she rattled the container sharply, the noise is loud, unpleasant and unexpected for the dog and they stop barking immediately because they are distracted by the noise. It only took a week or two and the dog stopped barking inappropriately.0
