Windows Mail not showing folders

Options
Normally when I open Windows Mail I get the folders (Inbox, deleted, sent etc) down the left hand side and the right hand side shows the contents of one of the folders with the lower part of the page showing the contents of the email highlighted.
Today for some reason when I open Windows Mail I get the inbox covering the whole of the window with the list of emails in the top portion and the email highlighted in the bottom portion of the page - there is no sign of the list of folders.
Any advice on returning it to what I assume is 'normal'.
