Postal Orders. Anyway Of Checking If They Have Been Cashed

Hi
Can I just ask please. I have sent as asked by the seller postal orders uncrossed. I have asked if they have been received yet and been told no.
I sent them 1st class on the 13th so could be the case.
I have the counterfoils so I just wondered if in a few days I get the same answer can I check if they have been cashed?
Thank you

i dont know about checking postal orders(maybe cross them next time as a lot of people do this when sending them to me). Also i would always sent by recorded delivery if i sent them. But to give you some peace of mind .I have just come off a one week holiday to 4 emails saying that they have not had their stuff that i sent on the 5th(recorded delivery) and the 9th so it may just be that there are some big hold ups somewhere so dont panic too much.0

Yes you can check them at the Post Office but it can take a few weeks to find out, take the stub in with the number on & fill in a form (can't remember which one but someone will know)
I too have 3 recorded items posted on the 5th not turn up yet!2023 wins - Rice Krispies, Avene Micellar Gel, Barbie Toy, £20 Apple Gift Card, KFC 6 piece bargain bucket, Chloe Nomade perfume, Barbie Toy (second one), Sanctuary Spa Sleep Balm, E45 Moisturising Lotion, Trolls Hamper, 12 Tonie Characters, Sure deodorant, Good Home Utensil holder, £5 Costa Gift Card, Neutrogena Micellar Jelly, Soap & Glory Mascara, Persil capsules,0 -

I think you can get your postage refunded if a special delivery item is delivered late.0 -
Yes I too am having problems with recorded delivery .THe post office claim if you send someting recorded it is slower as they have to note that it has arrived at their depot- they told me if I wanted to get things faster not to send it recorded !
Also as for postal oreders if you pay them into a bank they can take a week to clear- this has happend to me twice - despite arguing with the bank.
Between the bank and post office it makes ebaying such fun :xmassmile0 -

The guarantteed date for this would be Tuesday. The sender can claim a refund of postage0 -
You really should send postal orders crossed..... anyone can cash them otherwise and you have absolutely no way of finding out who cashed them (unless they did it at a bank and transferred straight into an account).
Fingers crossed you have just suffered a delay, take the stubs to the post office and get them to look into it. Make sure you say they have not yet been recieved and act a bit 'dim'.... If you let them into thinking that there might be something criminal has gone on, they will probably end up confused2 + 2 = 4
except for the general public when it can mean whatever they want it to.0 -
The Pos can only be traced when the letter is classed as missing. A lost mail form is completed and the stubs are attached, along with any COP. All this takes time ( is it 2 or three weeks before you can send in the form.
Problem will be if they are cashed and they say they have not recieved them (as could happen)...but hopefully not!!0 -
Post is REALLY slow at the mo - Lastminute.com sent me something on 7th and I still not got it yet.
Royal mail dont class anything as missing until its AT LEAST 10 days late depending on how you sent it.2012 wins approx £11,000 including 5k to spend on a holiday :j0 -
RM insisted on waiting 15 working days (i.e. 3 weeks) before they accepted a first class recorded item sent to me, as lost.
It is worth pointing out that the post office could look very seriously upon an item like this getting lost since it would stink of a postal worker cashing in... if there happened to be a proof of delivery, the seller would basically be saying that the last postal worker to handle it, signed it as delivered and kept it.
