Thank you i will try and update the driver tomorrow. but the graphics card is brand new as the laptop has recently been back to fujitsu in germany to rectify a problem ( as its still under warranty) so don't know about that.
i am just off out now so will post tomorrow. thank you for the help0 -

No worries
Be best if you can let us know the EXACT card so we can find the correct driver for it:idea:0 -
right did as i was told this time lol.
anyway the only thing left now in the yellow ? is....................video controller(vga compatible)
location.....PCI bus 3, device 0, function 0
and then underneath in device status is says..The drivers for this device are not installed. (Code 28)
To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Drive SO i have tried to install from the drivers/utilities disc but to no avail.
But since i started to use firefox i can save bookmarks no problem. the lappy is speedier and i can open links, so the only thing odd is the scrolling.
Now as I am a bit thick when it comes to computers, is it best I leave it alone now until my son returns home from australia and sorts it for me.0 -
Download CCLEANER (Top right)
http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner/
Install it and open it
At the top it should tell you ~
The version of service pack your using
The computers cpus, ram and the GRAPHICS CARD
Can you tell me what the card is please?
(Run the top scan too, will clean up the computer)
If you decide to run the registry scan (second down) BACK UP the registry when it asks:idea:0 -
It may be worth deleting the current display driver and then rebooting.XP "should" find the graphics chip and load the correct driver. It doesn't always work, but if not it will revert to VGA, which is what you've got anyway. At which point follow Alienrik.0

I have this already installed but did install again anyway can't find where the info is you required.
gosh i'm so useless :j0 -
Just double click the icon. The first page that comes up will tell you at the top on the left hand side (Underneath where it says CCLEANER and the version number):idea:0
