I think this is an example of the sort of thing that UKTim hates. This sort of thing does give genuine personal injury claimants a bad name.

    Lets look at the facts:

    1. OP didn't actually see the incident.
    2. The child had a little cry but no suggestion of anything more serious. Might he have suffered similar in the playground?
    3. Perhaps (controversial one this) OP should have been supervising said child a little more closely.
    4. OP went back into store to find assailant. Why?

Bottom line, it was a bona fide accident. No damage done. Move on.

I could see this as a Little Britain sketch. One with David Walliams as a woman with a kid, just like the one where had had a child he wanted to be an actor.

The kid would have an accident like the one above, David Walliams would then check no-ones looking then hit the kid on the head with a hammer (very hard), then go looking for someone, not angry but in an innocent "oh, I think theres been a slight accident" sort of way.
  • Take the kid to hospital and get him checked on, x-rays the lot. Then get a decent lawyer on your side and aim to close the firm down, lock stock and barrel. As for the staff at the store, they should all be immediately suspended and placed on the child abuse registers, their names flying from evey lampost for 50 miles.

Never agains should we allow this to happen.
  • I agree. It was probably just an accident.

Perhaps at the time you could have said to the girl or manager about it but I just think if you wrote now and complained they'd just laugh at you!
