Mine was the 2nd week of November too. I got frustrated and called Tesco customer services who sent me a £3 gift card, which arrived on the same day as the £2 TMF money. Took the gift card to local Tesco store and they told me to keep it as a gesture of goodwill.

Got my MCCAIN JACKET POTATO MBG today, they gave me postage as well, so a total of £2.35.

Also, got my OLAY PROFESSIONAL KIT MBG today which I applied for in January. Woohoo!
  • Just to let you know, instead of the £1 off coupon for ariel you can get the £2 coupon from their FB page instead! :D Makes it only £1 then at Tesco!

hi, please could you give me a link as i've searched facebook for ariel and ariel stain remover and nothign comes up :( ta x

Not able to post up the link, havent had enough posts yet on MSE! :(

Found by Dormouse - post 2024 states:

'Here's an offer I've just come across - not strictly a TMF/MBG but could work out even better if I'm reading this right. Florette (bagged salads) have a new Coinks rewards system, and for buying 3 promotional bags with codes you can have a £5 voucher or £5 paid via BACS - sounds quite good to me?

Details here - it's 1 per household unfortunately. According to Mysupermarket the Duo salads are £1 each in Asda, so potentially £2 profit? Would be great if someone else looked at this as I'm not sure I'm reading it right, lol! :D Would be even better value with yellow-stickered/whoopsied salads in the evenings...'

I shall try this today - not that it's really salad weather...

I have recently started using coupons etc and I think its great and now I have come across this thread although over the years I have seen these money back offers it's something I have never done so I am looking for some advice please if on your statement the question is like/or dislike I can understand that! but what if it's just dislike and maybe you do like lol what then ?

In my mind TMF and MBG are 2 entirely different things. TMF gives the consumer the opportunity to try a product at no cost. MBG is there on the off chance that you really disliked the product and therefore are given the guarantee that in such circumstances you will be refunded and therefore not out of pocket.

IMO pretending that you didn't like a product purely so that you can get it for free is both fraudulent and deceitful. If you liked the item, there are morally no grounds for you to contact the company demanding your money back. Due to the increasing amount of people that deploy these tactics I can only see product prices increasing, genuine claims being rejected and future offers withdrawn. Claiming in this way is not Money Saving, just plain and simple lying.

    Hi sprinkle,

Thank you for your comments. I don't really think that you can link a case between costs rising and the amount of claiming. I'm pretty sure that you know that a Money back promotion, is classed as a Marketing Expense.

Most MBG and TMF are done by a fixed fee promotional handling company. Therefore, the amount of claims do not effect the consumer.

Only one or two very small companies do promotions on their own back.

I used to work for a food producer and we would normally only put prices up due to an increase in raw costs.

    Thanks,

    Macfamilyent

    Hi Macfamilyent

I really did not know that. My assumption has always been that one consumer will pay for the 'follies' of another. Although I will not be swayed on the morality of pretending you don't like something so that you can get it for free. Certainly not an example I'd like to pass on to my kids.

    Regards
