I'd agree with the above. G&E sound really low.

And you shouldn't think about a mortgage until you're debt free and saved up 10k. Then think about it.

Which bit of the 6 years have you trying to get a mortgage for?

Have you cleared massive amounts of debts over the last 6 years?

My gas & electric is less than £30pcm combined. I work from home, so should in theory use more. We don't have any fancy system, just an efficient boiler and a small well-insulated house.

Dump sky/cable and replace with freeview or freesat (either version).

Save £240 per year (less the one off set up charge for the alternatives)

Your £30 p.m. total for gas & electric seems remarkably low - about 1/4 the national average.

Make sure you are not building up a debt that you don't know about (quite common when people are paying monthly by DD)

it's a good first stab at the SOA but there does seem a lot missed out.

it shows you have a surplus each month of £109 ... in practice do you actually have any surplus at all or are you using credit cards etc. to pay your way.

your housing cost are very high .. rent and council tax are taking half your income .. is it posssible to get cheaper accommodation?

can you or your partner increase income... maybe part time job(s) etc?

and stop using credit cards and store cards otherwise the debts will never go down.

Whatever the outgoings are is irrelevant in the context of the original question. Without a decent deposit (let alone money for legal costs, valuation, moving costs, house maintenance blah blah) it's not going to happen.
Anyway, in a falling market why would you want to bother?
