Number transfer
Options
Hi all,
I'm not out of contract with Orange and - after not being able to wrangle the free handset I wanted out of them - asked to be disconnected.
Now, I'd like to keep my number, is this possible even if I rejoin Orange themselves, through an online deal? For instance, how about:
http://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk/index.php?&B[0][next][0]=&B[0][tariff]=OV200&B[0][handsetcode]=ORAU6
Would I still be able to retain my current number?
Thanks in advance

No, the only way would be to go to PAYG (not sure if you have to go to another provider or can go to Orange PAYG) and then back to Orange, I did this once by going from Voda contract to Voda PAYG and then back to a Voda contract.2p off is still 2p off!0

:xmassign: You need to port your number to another network before you can port back to Orange. If you have a free O2 sim you could port your number onto that and then port it back to Orange. You cant port a number from Orange to Orange as AFAIK. :xmassign:0

Echo the previous replies.
For some reason you can't transfer your number to the same network.
I bet they could transfer it if they wanted to, but choose not to be awkward.0 -
Thanks all. I spoke to Orange and what fatboyonadiet suggested is indeed possible. They'll switch me to PAYG, then I'll be able to transfer the number.
Are https://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk reputable? Neither myself or my friends have ever dealth with them.0 -
In addition, will I get billed from Orange or https://www.onestopphoneshop.co.uk directly?0

Yes, people will have different views but I've had 2 phones of them with no problems with the cashback, never had to chase a cheque up, as opposed to e2save who I once got a cheque off about 3 months after I sent the bill! Both are owned by CarPhoneWarehouse so doubt they will go bankrupt (has happened to me in the past!) and leave you without owed cashback. Maybe go via www.quidco.com for £20 cashback (they charge £5 a year admin - as long as you have any payouts of course, but pay more then most other cashback sites).2p off is still 2p off!0

You'll be billed from Orange, you will need to send your cashback claims to OSPS who will pay-out by cheque.2p off is still 2p off!0
