It should scan unless it's not recognised your adapter as mentioned. If it's an Atheros, chances are it should work.
If you left click on the network icon, it should show a list of wirless networks. You click on the one that is yours, enter the shared key, and click ok. That should be it, in an ideal world. As simple as you're looking for.
If you're adapter isn't recognised I don't think and wireless options will show at all though. Can you give more detailed steps of what you're doing an possibly a screen shot of how the menu looks."Boonowa tweepi, ha, ha."0 -
Right i've gave this another shot and am getting no where, If I go into system etc there it is and activated. However its not showing any wireless connection and there is no setting in there for it.
If I open a shell window and try to enter code that was mentioned on the link above it asks for the password to my account however it wont let me enter it.

When you enter the password, you'll see no characters appearing on the screen or even a * or similar masking what you've typed in. They are being registered though.0

Right ok, I entered the code etc as mentioned on that link, It installed a few things and showed a few updates which I am now downloading however still not sign of the wireless workingThis is a system account and does not represent a real person.
