O2 Online Pay Monthly Customer Service Test
Options
Ok Folks,
A little experiment here, not sure if it will work but maybe we can give it a go.
As an O2 Online Pay Monthly customer we have to pay to call the 0870 600 3009 number for our customer service or of course if we are near a landline can use the 0800 005 005 freephone number and be transfered across to online customer service.
I believe that offline customers can contact O2 by dialling 202 from their handset free of charge but if an online customer were to do this we get the pre recorded message telling us that we have an online account and to redial the 0870 number.
However, I today tried dialling 141202 ie withholding my number from the o2 system and it allowed me into the menu options and the ability to speak to an advisor, but once connected to the advisor there systems were down and i was told to redial but haven't had a chance since.
Do you think that the call centre you get thru to will be able to deal with an online customer enquiry...I thought we could give it a try and post our findings here.. Maybe ask some easy questions like "When is my billing date" "When is my contract up" etc etc and see what kind of response we get.
I know we could just dial the 0870 number but if we can get the call free by dialling 141202 it may be worth investigating.
So, just to summerise its 141202 and then you will be presented with the menu options. "DONT KEY IN YOUR MOBILE NUMBER WHEN PROMPTED BY THE MACHINE OR YOU WILL GET THE YOU HAVE AN ONLINE ACCOUNT PLEASE REDIAL ETC ETC.." Just let the machine run through and press 0 to speak to an advisor and report back if the advisor can deal with your call.

There is really no advantage in this - 202 is chargeable. Try 1000

I'm under the impression that 202 is free from an O2 handset.0

Tried calling them this morning and the advisor i got through to dealt with my enquiry without transferring to another department or telling me to redial.
I asked them when my billing date was and got the correct answer.
Can anyone else confirm if the 202 number is free or chargeable, I was sure its free to call from an O2 handset.0 -
I stand corrected...Just checked on the O2 website! Oh well never mind..0
