Hi Thes
Sorry my reply has come so late. You'll be pleased to know that, in my opinion, you've picked the right company!
I've worked for Eurocamp in the past. Eurocamp and Keycamp are owned by the same company, Holidaybreak Plc. On the site I worked on, many companies were represented: Eurocamp, Keycamp, Canvas Holidays, Tui (owned Thomson Holidays).
I would definitely recommend Eurocamp out of all of the above. Where I worked, all of the staff got on well and so shared experiences of our companies. In my experience, it seems to be the case that:
- Eurocamp mobile homes are generally cleaner. Eurocamp appeals more to the Dutch and German market, while Keycamp is mainly for British and Irish customers. The Dutch and German market, I'm sad to say, are by far the cleanest. This means the mobile homes are in better condition and are generally nicer.
- Keycamp tents are better than Eurocamp tents! Much more space in the bedrooms and it's possible to stand up in them.
- Canvas are generally not so good. The mobile homes are smaller. I don't know about prices. Canvas staff have a lot less work to do, and so the staff are often people who were Eurocamp the previous year but wanted an easier life! Also, the Eurocamp employees who aren't invited back to Eurocamp often go to Canvas, too.
Regarding tents, they are reused each year. You'll be pleased to know they are cleaned!
If I were to holiday with any company, it would be Eurocamp.

You are spot on there that often booking direct with the campsite in their own accommodation will work out cheaper than Eurocamp, Keycamp etc, especially during the peak 6 weeks English and Welsh Summer school holidays. If you're a first timer though at a campsite, or even a frist timer with mobiles, I can see why people would prefer to pay more with Eurocamp, if only because they can see in the brochure what mobiles / tents they are likely to get. For returnees to the same campsite though, booking direct can get you great bargains and you have the advantage of being able to see the accommodation available to book direct from the campsite which is often ex Eurocamp and Keycamp mobiles!0 -
You can see what you are getting by the camp website, if you like the look of a campsite in eurocamp etc just google the site name and see how much you will save booking direct.BernadetteN wrote: »If you're a first timer though at a campsite, or even a frist timer with mobiles, I can see why people would prefer to pay more with Eurocamp, if only because they can see in the brochure what mobiles / tents they are likely to get.0 -
