Im thinking of trying one of the above companies next year going to Lake garda - has anyone been to any of these camps anywere? What are they like? has anyone ever driven to Lake garda? They seem to be very cheap i.e a family of 4 staying in June in a 6 berth caravan is £599 including ferry crossing (14 nights)
Many Thanks.

We have note been to any of the sites in Italy but have used Keycamps in France and Spain and would recommend them highly. Lake Garda is one place my husband would love to go to but for the last two years we have been tied to when we could go away and found there was no accomodation left to fit in with us, so they must be very popular. They do have some good deals if you go out of school holidays. If you can get decking it is worth paying the extra as it stops a lot of dirt etc getting into the mobile home.0

We've used Keycamp now for the past four years and have had good holidays. This year, our caravan was only 6 weeks old! We had decking for the first time this year and I am so glad we did as we didn't have great weather and the pitch in front of the decking was a bit too damp to spend any time on (this was in May though).
Can't comment on the drive down as we have only ever done fly-drive0 -
Thanks so sounds quite good then - thanks for the tip about the decking I will definately get this - What are the basic caravans like? is it worth getting the more expensive one? we are 2 adults and a 2yr old so dont need loads of space.0

The Keycamp Classic Midi looks quite small, but may be ok if there are only 3 of you. We stayed in the Supernova the first time we went and have gradually worked our way up to nearly the biggest. The Supernova was a fine size for a young family (Our boys were 4&6 I think) when we first went.0

We had a holiday with Eurocamp, three weeks in the South of France and was very pleased with the quality of both the tents and the equipment. We were told that it used to be their policy that either at the end of each season or every two, can't remember which they used to destroy all the tents and would then start afresh so that all campers never had to stay in tents that were substandard, but we are not sure if that info was true or not so don't take it as gospel
They wouldn't even sell the tents to other companys in case they were used for too many years and became worse for wear and then Eurocamp's reputation would go down
They even did mini frame tents for the children to use so they felt like proper campers.I don't think they had started with the caravans in those days.
We had a few Keycampers thta came over to us and asked what we thought of Eurocamp as they were not at all impressed with the standard or quality of the tents or equipment.
They were a bit more expensive than all the others that were around at the time,I think Suncamp was another one. They provided all the route maps and we found them a good company to deal with. The fact that they are still going must say something about them but if things are the same as they were then I can't recommend them enough.
As the saying goes you get what you pay for and I hope that whatever company you go with I hope you have a most enjoyable and relaxing holiday....0 -
Thanks - we are still trying to work out which park to go to as there are so many - Lake Garda does seem to get booked up really quickly for some reason so want to book it soon - plus they are doing £50 deposit.0

Keycamp and Eurocamp are owned by the same company; on some sites you will find both companies there; yet at others, you will only find one or the other.0

Been with Canvas and Eurocamp lots of time. Great holidays, brilliant value, would recommend them A*! You don;t have reps trying to see you stuff (well i never have) it's purely a case of here is your accommodation, if you need us come and get us, but otherwise do as you wish. Great for exploring the local area. :cool:0
