It is a 12inch fan that has the wheel on the front with fins in. this turns rather than the fan oscilating. With this you can direct the draft better. On slow fan setting it is about right if the stove gets hot we turn it up. I find it is very much like a 2 kw fan heater only taking 20 watt to run.

Is it a plug in electric fan?

Doesn't it get too hot being close to the stove?

I hope you don't mind all these questions, this could be the answer to us getting the heat around.

I'm a bit puzzled as to why you're spending most of your time at such a distance to your source of heat. I'm sure you have your reasons but it doesn't seem to make much sense. Why not spend your time in the nice warm room with the multi fuel in it?

I don't find it gets too hot. the cool air around it helps to cool it down if it does move it away. Ours works a treat and yes it is a plug in hence the 20watts. Regarding not sitting in the room well our chimney is in the middle of the house and that is dining room/computer room the sitting room is next door and also a door to the stairs The more heat you get out the more goes up stairs. We have not had the C/H on more than 1/2hr so far this winter.

No problem as those who have a stove know it has to go in a certain place this is not always ideal. I do however think that getting airflow around the stove is a great way to make the most of it.

The stove is in the front room and our office is on the top floor. We spend around 2 to 3 hours an evening in the office each night and more than that at weekends.

I've got one of those plug in fans, a cheapy from woolworths. I'm not sure if I'd be able to get it kinda in between the fire place and the stove though. There's not that much room. I'll have to dig it out and see if I can give it a go, even if I had to hold it in place to see how much difference it would make - if it does that i'll start looking for something more permanent.

    Thank you.

Problems with keeping Aga LittleWenlock multi fuel stove alight
Hi I'm new here and am not sure if I'm in the right place for this message...
I have just spent a fortune on a new multi fuel stove and am very frustrated because I cannot always get it to stay alight. Some days it works ok and other days like today I just could not get it to stay alight - tried about 6 times and gave up feeling defeated and very annoyed with it. I put fire lighters in the grate, topped with plenty of kindling and surround this with antracite smokeless fuel with a couple of bits put on top once the flames are going from the kindling... it looks like it's okay but then it just dies...grrr its costing me a fortune in fire lighters, kindling and matches! Anyone got any idea why this could be happening - does it depend on how windy it is outside or anything like that? I'm really regretting spending all that money on buying it and having it installed by a HETAS registered engineer... Please help!

Not sure how much I can help. I asume the draw is good and the kindling is dry? Are all the vents open? If you leave the door slightly open does it go better?

Have you ever had a good fire? If so it would seem to be an issue with what you put on. If the chimney is cold it may take a little more help but once warm should be ok, Try putting kindling on and some dry wood to get heat and a really good fire then add your coal. I will ask the obvious. Are you sure it is multi fuel?
