Pointless buying a PS3 if he loves his 360
If your thinking of THAT sort of money though, why not look at a 'surround sound' system for his 360?:idea:0 -
How about a flat screen tv for his xbox, or like mentioned above, a surround sound system.
I could give you a whole heap of gadgets worth buying0 -
does it have to be a surprise? just ask him if he wants one for xmas. if not just get him a load of xbox 360 games.0

Well it could be used as a standalone blu-ray player which could play the odd game or two which he can't play on his Xbox 360, like Little Big Planet, Motorstorm2 etc...........What if the Hokey Pokey really is what it's all about !!!0

...and if he doesn't want it, I could find a good home for it.0

I wouldnt get him a ps3 if he enjoys the 360, how about some clothes or a tv or a surround sound system0

Theres only really 3 games worth having that are ps3 exlusives:
wipeout
metal gear solid
little big planet
why not get a blu ray laptop or hd tv?0 -
I tend to disagree with those who say there's no point in having a PS3 as well as a 360, but I do concede that from a fifteen year old's point of view there might not be much he'd do on the PS3 that he can't do on the 360.
I have a 360 and bought a PS3 mostly for Blu-Ray, but have since installed a 320GB hard disk in it, installed Linux on it and use it as a PC as well as a console.
The media player in the PS3 is far superior to that on the 360 (not to mention the fact it's Blu-Ray as opposed to standard DVD), and I reckon it's better suited for football games like PES 2009. Plus you've got the PS3 exclusives already mentioned.
But if he's 15, he'd probably appreciate a flatscreen telly more, if he hasn't got one already.0 -
thanx for the replies. he already has a 26" lcd tv in his room and theres no point with the surround sound as he shares a room with his 16yr old brother who makes him wear wireless headphones most of the time cos he cant do with the noise. lol. he also already has a laptop which he got last yr. the trouble i hve is that he finds recieving money as a gift from us really boring because all his relatives give money (lucky boy really) , and i think he enjoys opening a surprise really.0
