Getting out of Contract

Hi,
I am currently with a pay monthly contrct with T Mobile. The contract started in Sep 03, so it has run for over two years.
In Sep 05 I asked not to upgrade my phone and was offered instead a discount on monthly line rental.
I now want to cancel my contract (despite discount there are some much better deals). However, I have been told by T Mobile that since I agreed to a line rental discount I am locked in until Sep 06. I can buy myself out, but that would involve the cost of line rental for the remaining months, not taking into account the discount.
I am aware that I can change contracts with T mobile, but is there anything else I can do?
Any advice very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance

You need to check your T & Cs, chances are that they treat the discount as an upgrade and you would be subject to a new 12 month contract.0

Thanks Jimmy.
I don't have T and C's with me, but I think you could be right. My fault for not thinking it through.0
