Hi I want to get an o2 XDA Exec (aka i-mate JASJAR, Orange SPV M5000, T-Mobile MDA Pro, Qtek 9000 and Vodafone VPA IV) with 1GB SD, and don't getting it via a contract if it makes the total cost cheaper (cost of phone + line rental).
I'd prefer to get it before xmas, but it isn't essential (is it the sort of unwanted gift people will be selling on eBay)
The cheapest I've seen it so far is sim-free on eBay for around £230, or on contract for £380 (total cost of ownership; the contract's useless for me so I'd just buy another to supplement/replace it).
Thanks muchos!
BTW, I'm actually looking to get this x2 (one for me, one for my Fiance).

MicroDirect have an offer on the Qtek 1020, if you're interested. £129.19 inc VAT.
It's probably not nearly as nice as the XDA Exec, but it's much cheaper!

Have you tested this phone? I had this but returned it after I realised I never used the phone facilty as it was just a pain and a brick to carry around.0

Try 02 shop, not online, it is £150 less £30 trade in and get data 5 sim at £9.40 pm which should make it about £232 for 1 year. This was on offer two weeks ago but I decided to get the mini s instead with £30 trade in and data 5 sim total £163 ish.0

Hi Balt,
Can you tell me which O2 shop you went for your XDA mini? I found that different shops offer different deals.

Sorry, I'm looking at this phone cos I want a new smartphone (I've already got a N-Gage original, and 3 are cheapest so it needs to support 3g, and I want to use the web when I'm out so I want Wi-Fi too!nads wrote:Have you tested this phone? I haven't tested it actually, I haven't even seen in except online!! (don't worry though, I am planning on going to see one before I buy it!).
And as for it being big, at the mo I'm carrying 2 phones!! (a Nokia N-Gage (the old bigger one) and a Nokia 7600, using the N-Gage as a smartphone and gaming machine, and the 7600 as a rubbish picture photo phone and more importantly cos it takes a "3" chip.) so it's gonna be smaller than those two!balt wrote:Try 02 shop, not online, it is £150 less £30 trade in and get data 5 sim at £9.40 pm which should make it about £232 for 1 year. Wow thanks, I'll do that! (the cheapest I've seen it, as I said before, is £230+ on eBay)!
I want to get it insured too, so I need a proper receipt so I can prove I owned it in the first place (it'll probably get stolen or destroyed at some point hehe).0 -
thank balt, will check it out.0

Went to the o2 shop, and yep it's £199.99, minus trade-in which is worth £50, and cheapest tariff is £9.50 (5mb Data Tariff) for 12 months, so thats £263.99, over a hundred cheaper than online!
Still, I'm undecided whether to wait for a Nokia N80 now (which is scheduled for Q1 2006), and they couldn't get one in stock for Christmas so I'm going to wait for the January bargains hehe.0
