Whats up with only 1 hard drive and why would you want to run a raid array?

This is a low range system so the graphics card is more than ample for the graphics this machine is aimed at.

And why would you want more ram unless your running virtually all your applications at once and even then if you were to double the ram to 1024 you would not see any difference to the naked eye whatsoever.

    1) Raid completely useless in a budget computer.
    2) Graphics are a tad poor for the spec
    3) Difference in 512 & 1024 is noticeable.

Just to repeat: RAID IS A WASTE OF MONEY.
Raid 1 means that if one HD goes then you loose everything.

Not strictly true as I'd class mine as budget and I'm raiding mine. It completely depends on your requirements and for joe user it's not necessary. And RAID 1 is mirroring so if you lost one HDD then everything will be on the other one.

    Hmmm. Some debate.

Just wanted to add that I never said this was an amazing 'go sell your grandmother, and get it' deal. Just pretty good spec for the money for anyone looking to upgrade at this time and a good alternative to Dell, a company that some like and some don't.

I hope that it helped someone!

95% of people use their PCs for 3 things, internet, email and to write the odd letter. 95% of people therefore don't need to spend more than £300 incl VAT for a computer (TFT screens excluded).

Last one I bought was a Dell P4 with 512mb Ram for about £310 incl VAT and it's great. Don't fall for the marketing of these firms, you don't need to buy a fast sports car if you never drive outside of London...........

It's OK, but it's certainly not a super computer :)

No-one was saying that it was and yet nobody has come back with a better alternative, either.

So perhaps we can agree that it's the best around at this moment? :xmastree:

I'm a little confused by this. You say it's a uper computer in the title, so I guess somebody is saying that it is.

Of course there are better alternatives out there, but I for one don't have the time to go hunting.

Don't get me wrong, it's a decent spec.

Erm. Your'e right but that's called paraphrasing.

ok i made comments in this thread,

for average home user who just using it for family stuff is fine,

more advance people such as myself would build a rig anyway to requirements,

    think that sums it up
