This doesn't get the FSCS off the hook - there will gaps inevitably in their scheme - and they must have provision to contact customers individually by another means (eg a snail-mail asking for them to 'get in touch')Fair enough, but if someone changes their email address then they need to realise that they'll need to inform anybody who communicates with them via email (much the same as changing postal address or phone number)......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0 -

I wasn't aware that they were on the hook! But yes, of course they'll need to allow for those depositors who don't respond to the email. Let's hope they ensure it doesn't have any hint of spam about it, it wouldn't go down too well if it ended up being blocked by spam filters!Stompa0 -
it is easy to see the logged e mail account on icesave and in fact the e mail is displayed quite prominently after logging on. I have checked my own and dh`s e mail0

harrowing - if your mum can log in and run an internet account, which Icesave is/was then changing an e-mail address, if necessary, shouldn't pose a problem to anyone?
Good point, I wasn't aware that "changing of email address" was still possible in the rather sad, stripped down site formerly known as icesave....0 -

I posted assuming it could still be done, I haven't tried it or had to but hopefully, for those with different e-mail address, it's still possible, similarly correspondence address change. I think it's just the nominated bank account change has to completed by post?0 -
I saw on Working Lunch today that Icesave customers will be emailed by the FSCS from next Monday to explain details of how the refund will work. Another email will tell you when to log onto your Icesave account to fill in forms to reclaim your money. It will be date specific to avoid overload and your money should be returned via BACS within 5 days.
Yiippee!
By the time we get our money back (and thinking where to put it) interest rates will be very lame, BOE rate most probably only 3.5%! What a double whammy :mad:0
