Audi A3 - folding side mirrors done additionaly?
Comments

Maybe as the wirring harnesses are often fitted even if the option isnt, but cost would be silly - Think you will find that each mirror would be £300 plus.0

Standard mirrors on A3's are £200 each side, i'd suggest even more than £300, plus would doubt the wiring would be there im afraid, although the loom would only be a short addition from a main loom.
Probably not worth it, unless you really want to and have £1000 burning a hole in your pocket :A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. i bet you could do it for less than 120 quid using ebay, scrap yards and some brainpower0

Sounds like a challenge anneka moment
less than double that and you'd be doing well I reckon.

PS: If you want to PM me your chassis details I can tell you exactly what genuine prices would be and may be able to say if the wiring is already there or not.:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. Thanks everyone for your advice.
It is not for me actually, I've ordered new vehicle for one of our company drivers and the dealership messed up the order! But if we refuse the vehicle now, new one wouldn't turn up until end of March/beginning April - we were already waiting 3 months for this one.
I just wanted to check whether the dealership is not just telling me they can't do it for easing the situation for themselves. They offered to fit for free hands-free kit, but as they also messed up AC (not automatic but manual now!) the driver is still not very happy:-(0 -
Oh, brand new? Ouch
They should be able to find the correct spec vehicle somewhere in the country, or change the order. I dont work for Audi, but it cant be much different to VW who almost certainly can change. It's easier to order the correct car than try to retro fit the mirrors and AC! Tell the dealership to sort it out or you'll take your money elsewhere... In this economic climate they do not have the upper hand and plenty of customers, so they need to keep the ones they have happy!:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things. oh if its not yours i wouldnt even consider doing it yourself
i had looked into this with my current car, at my old place i had a car port that was narrower than the width of the cars mirrors, luckily i had just sold that house so i was moving so didnt bother
The mirrors were a straight swap and if the loom was not there i would just need to get the button from the scrap yard (for the oem look) and either connect it upto the correct loom or wire it in from a 12v source
The installation of my own wiring would of been simple
Mirrors can be found on ebay for next to nothing if you are not in a rush0 -

The problem is that this is the latest A3 that just entered the market. The A3 was off the market for nearly 6 mths, because they withdrew orders for the old model and then the new CO2 efficient engine went wrong so they had to put off the introduction and all sorts... So it means that the factory order list is veeery long and that is why we would have to wait that long AND they cannot find existing one - all the cars coming out of factory at the moment are specificaly ordered.0 -
...but surely if you're spending £20k + you deserve to get the car you ordered!? Have you put any deposit down, or signed papers on finance yet?:A Luke 6:38 :AThe above post is either from personal experience or is my opinion based on the person God has made me and the way I understand things.
