Hi my little forum friends!
Well l rang nationwide to see if they would give us a bit more on the refund front, l must have got the 13 year old! she said Oh l dont know, how much do you want! l thought l'll have it all please but didnt want to sound greedy!! She said she didnt know if l could have anymore but she would ask and let me know in 5 to 7 working days. l asked to speak to the manager(as l wanted them today to pay the council tax) whose name is on the letter but she said l could'nt ,when questioned about why not, she said " l dont make the rules, l only read them!!) So through my gritted teeth l hoped she would have a nice christmas coz we probably wont!!
So l'll ring council tomorrow when l've thought of plan B!!!
Sorry about that Nova. They start so young:rotfl: Seriously would it be worth ringing again tomorrow you may get somebody else. Or could you pop into your local Nationwide and speak to the Manager. Block up one of their counters and be a bit awkward. May take you to Manager just to keep you quiet. Good luck anyway and hope you get it sorted:mad:0 -

Hiya, yes partially settled until the outcome of the test case, no we didnt sign anything. What they've done is about 3 weeks ago lowered the overdraft by £1000 and so they've given us enough to just be within the new limit, so they have'nt really done us any favours as such, not that lm ungrateful.
They have said they will let us know if we can have more in 5 to 7 working days, so as its xmas they may let us know sooner! You never know!0 -
Picture Are Reviewing My Claim To See If It Eligible For Compensation Under The Fscs Rules.
One Step Closer But Still No Time Scale.:d[/quote
Yippeeeeeeeeee about time !
Did they send you a letter to let you know? :T.
No they replied to an email I sent last week. I thought it was the usual email they send out, but it had the bit about currently reviewing my claim.:j

Thanks for that, yes l could go into the branch and break down in floods of tears!! As my OH says if they can refund just like that they must feel to a certain extent that these charges are unfair.0 -

Yes, but then I have for years - as it's low level stuff and has only caused about a week's absence from work in all that time, I didn't really think it relevant.
To be honest, I'd be just as happy to cancel the PPI with MBNA as it stands, especially if they're likely to be that difficult about a reclaim. As I said at the outset, I'm just concerned that MBNA will get nasty about it. In fairness to Mint, they just cancelled it there and then and sent me a questionnairre about the reclaim (I used the templates from this site.)
That is why I requested SAR's due to moving house then things go amiss sort of thing.
Not sure is they will supply this copy of agreement now, as it was year 2000 you had taken this out, but you could give them a ring just to see what they say to save going through all the agro of the SAR first and maybe a copy of the terms and conditions of this, where this could be checked on the medical side of things as I believe they vary from one company to another.
There is no harm in doing this or maybe someone on here may have the terms and conditions for that year you had taken this out.;)
Sorry to hear of your health problem.
I would check before cancelling as well hun to make sure they don't expect you to take out a brand new loan first, as some businesses say if you cancel the PPI after the cancellation period a new loan may be required to do this, however again this needs to be checked out first in the t&c's if possible, or some do not lower the repayments.
I hope this works out your way here, hopefullys someone will post up who have had experience with these.
Good luck.;)The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
