To be honest, it was so long ago I really couldn't tell you. I was in a much less secure job in those days, for a start. However, that said I've already started the reclaiming process with Mint, as I was definitely mis-sold by them much more recently: I have no recollection at all of applying with it from them, and as I have sciatica, though by no means severe, as I understand it that's on their golden list of no-pay-out excuses: actually, is that worth a shot with MBNA?

Yes I know what you mean hun.

Not sure what help this will be unless you do not have the required paperwork for this but you could request for a SAR if you've not done so already.

There is a template letter for this posted maybe a page or 2 back, some information maybe useful to help you remember some stuff, although they will only probably forward you the SAR information going back as far as 6 years, although some have been lucky to receive documents going back further as I did with my lloyds tsb statements etc, they send me info going back right from 2001.

Do you still have the actual agreement for this credit card hun?
Did you have these health problems when you had taken out the MBNA card?

I am spending chirstmas eve and christmas day at my Nan's old people home helping serve the dinner! No rest fot the wicked eh? then late afternoon relax with our family dinner and a few bottles of vin rouge and wii fit!

Apologies for my spelling, i am mildy dyslexic and i notice my errors when i re-read, somthing in my brain just wants to put letters in the wong place. Somtimes it creates some words that should not be created!

Thats nice. Will they have entertainment there as well.

Hope you do not get on the wii fit after to many vin rouge:rotfl:

    I see thanks hun.
In my case I'm going back to front lol, the advance loan done and dusted then the FOS said to go back to the broker for the first one to reclaim redress on the first one.
So if it was worked out that way as if the advance one was missold I bet you already had some of the PPI for the first loan (whatever was added at settlement) repaid anyway.

Its always nice to give something back to life...:D

Mine is helping people that have been missold get their PPI back and try to get back on their feet from it. I get great pleasure from it knowing what debt can bring to families and losing homes etc.:D

I bet the people that knowingly sold it knowing that the customer could not afford it and could have got something similar at a much cheaper cost could do with doing something "charitable" to ease their conscience. And all for hefty commissions too. I bet their Christmas bonus's have dropped this year.:D

Yes, its interesting this, funny enough I found some calculations the other day for this refund on the one they paid out, for the interest of it I will post up when I come across them again later, this may give an idea of how they work out their calculations, even though I suppose this will vary from one lender to another.

No, unfortunately - we lost a ton of paperwork in our last house-move but one. It would have made life a lot easier if I had!
Did you have these health problems when you had taken out the MBNA card?
Yes, but then I have for years - as it's low level stuff and has only caused about a week's absence from work in all that time, I didn't really think it relevant.

To be honest, I'd be just as happy to cancel the PPI with MBNA as it stands, especially if they're likely to be that difficult about a reclaim. As I said at the outset, I'm just concerned that MBNA will get nasty about it. In fairness to Mint, they just cancelled it there and then and sent me a questionnairre about the reclaim (I used the templates from this site.)
