I would love to know how first plus decide who to refund and who not.
Because I have read of two successes OTR with First Plus but could just be these were in juristiction and they had no choice.
Why won't anyone stand up to them from the authorities.
Makes me wonder...0 -

Me being impatient made the call to Firstplus on Monday and was told that it would only get thrown back to me as this type of complaint for an unfair rebate goes to the broker as the broker would have explained the rebate to me in a telephone conversation. I have it in writing from the so called broker that they did a non advised sale of the PPI which means nothing was discussed with me.
I then got back with this information from Firstplus to the person that sent the email from the Ombudsman about me having to state my claim to the insurer and she got back two days ago with this.Thank you for your email below. Further to your conversation with A******, I have made contact with Firstplus to request confirmation of who the underwriter was for your PPI policy. I will contact you as soon as I have received this information. In the meantime, I thank you for your patience...0 -
Hi all
I hope this isn't a daft question but I was after a bit of help....
About 6 years a go I bought a laptop from PC World and paid for it in monthly installments. When the paperwork came through for the agreement it was from HFC Bank not PC world. I've noticed on here that they are one of the banks that have been heavily fined. If there was PPI on the agreement (I need to check my paperwork), does anyone know if I can still reclaim even though I didn't take it out directly with HFC.
Hope all of this makes sense.Wins 2010: March - Juicy Couture Perfume0 -

Hi there
If the agreement is named as from HFC then yes, you can pursue through these.
When exactly did you take this out ? (what year)
And if you did not ask for ppi and they had added this without your knowledge then you have a right to complain and reclaim.
Check out the above red box reclaim £1,000's, there is info on that link and also a link to a reclaim template to help you through this.
I would try to write in your own words as much as possible, with your own reasons of why you believed you were mis sold this PPI.
They have 8 weeks to respond, if they fob you off with a standard response, please get back to us where we can guide you to the next step.;)
Post by recorded delivery to keep a check on the 8 weeks timescale.
Good luck

Who actually sold you the PPI though.. was it PC world or HFC.????
If it was not HFC then you cannot claim through them.. you have to claim from whoever sold it to you.0 -
Hi Di3004
Thanks very much for your help. I'm sure I took the agreement out within the last 6 years, I need to find all my paperwork and double check it. I don't remember anyone mentioning PPI when I took it out I didn't even know it was going to be with HFC. I've printed out all the templates so fingers crossed.
Thanks again.Wins 2010: March - Juicy Couture Perfume0 -

PC World would have sold it and they do not have their own finance service so that is why it is an HFC agreement.

Cheers hun.
So if Pinkaddict was mis sold ppi would she be able to pursue through PC world, because they are not a finance company really are they ?
But yes I see your point here, maybe if Pinkaddict contacts the FOS they will be able to confirm who....just maybe ???
In about 2003 I purchased a washing machine from Currys, they sent monthly statements, the statements were them of GE capital bank and its them that added the ppi, I never asked for this.
So I just taken it may be the same sort of issue here, because we were not exactly told on the sale by Currys who were taking the payments, we assumed it was them, until we received the statements.
Even though Currys sorted out the finance for this at the time, it was GE capital that done the rest, and its down to them that they automatically added ppi, my mate works for this company and she also told me that a while ago.
So she said if we know of anyone doing this in the future buying on finance is to tell them to make sure the insurer does not add cover. The one and only "Dizzy Di"0 -
