PPI Reclaiming discussion Part III

  • Hello. I've just heard back from Nat West over my ten loans (I've been extending my loan each time, and now have a £23,000 personal loan with them).
I said I was mis-sold PPI for all of them. Anyway, the bank has not admitted liability but as a goodwill gesture has offered to refund the premiums I paid for the first six.
    Namely,
    £85.62
    £99.20
    £208.15
    £191.13
    £430.03
    £469.43
    0.48p (!)
In each case, the bank paid the balance of the PPi into the loan account i.e as a credit when I took out the next one.
But the last four loan extensions are different.
Nat West says each loan included a single premium policy BUT unlike the others it doesn't specify the premiums I paid, or the lump sum added at the start of each loan.
For each of these four loans, (£16k, £18k, £20k, £23k) Nat West has offered a "goodwill gesture" of £750.
Are they trying it on? This is a fraction of the single premium PPI I paid, so what should I do?
I'm tempted to claim the refunds for the first six loans, which comes to £1484.04 but contest the others.
I'm not complaining, if I took all ten refunds it would be £4,484.04 in my pocket, but I reckon I should contest the last four- tell me what you think..

It does not seem fair does it. You take out a Loan together probably he is the only one covered for the PPI:rolleyes: it is usually the first named person. He !!!!!!s off and leaves you to it. You do all the work and he gets the benefit of the money if it pays off. Life married life in general:rotfl::rotfl::T:T

Seriously good luck and I hope there is a way of sorting it out for you Molly.
Thanks for the note of support maxdp. Never getting married again!!

Hi di3004. Thanks for your reply.

I have only put my name on complaint form. I do not have any contact address for my ex-husband so i would not be able to get him to sign.
I think i will follow your advice and telephone FOS.

    Thanks again

    Thanks di3004!

Everyone is so great on this site- really friendly and helpful.
I was hoping that there may have been someone in a similar situation who had put a complaint in to FOS, but I will just have to ring FOS as you advised in an earlier post.

    Many thanks
