I have an old sky router V1 (flashed),can i use this instaed of his speedtouch 330 and how would i go about setting it up on his pc.

See here for ipconfig http://www.ncsu.edu/resnet/windows/ipconfig/
Also try ping
Type ping https://www.bbc.co.uk
If you get 4 lines that give an ip address and times in milly seconds then you have a internet conection but the browser (s) are set up wrong.
If it says request timed out 4 times you don't have a connection.0 -

the IP address appears to be an external IP - internal ones usually begin with 192.168.x.x for home networks.
the subnet mask 255.255.255.255 and DG of 0.0.0.0 is a little wierd and seems to be a default route set up for all unknown destination traffic.
if you have your command line open try typing this
tracert www.bbc.co.uk
it should give you a list off all the hops your request takes to get to the BBC website.
if you get a line of ** ** ** then you have a time out problem somewhere along the route.
Still not sure about this default gateway 0.0.0.0 though - seems abit odd. se what the trace route it like then we can try and work on the explorer settingsDon't try to teach a pig to sing - it wastes your time and annoys the pig0 -
