And you are certain it is a metric meter?

as psst says keep an eye on it, but couple of questions in the interest of safety, are the flames of your gas appliances burning at the right level or do you need to turn them up higher than usual prolly fine but best to ask

Lucy, I would leave things as they are.
If your supplier thinks that you are not using enough gas, then they will arrange to do a meter check.

If it transpires that your meter is running slow, then personally, I would act dim (not difficult for me :D ) and say that I had been trying not to have the heating on as I was worried about the price increases. ;)

I manage to use 1 unit (11 Kwh) metric meter in summer per day.

  • Its very tempting to just leave it. I just dont want end up with a huge bill. But I cant see how they can know what I have used if the meter isnt recording it.
