  • Hi,
Matalan for blankets £3 each & Toys R us for muslins! Ebay as others said is great, but save on P&P by searching by nearest distance & collecting, helps as their kids are growing out of their clothes yours can be groing into them! & when you get a rapport going then you know you'll get the pick of the best stuff! NCT sales are great too! MumsNet & freecycle are good as many people are just glad to get rid of their LOs clutter!

    Congrats on the pgy!

I wasn't keen on ToysRUs muslins (scratchy and thin) but ones from Adams and Asda are lovely and soft and wash up well - being used for DD2 now and still look bright and clean.

Just saw a sainsbury's ad offering 1/3 off all baby stuff, incl clothing. I guess that is only on for a week.

Ethel austin were offering 20% off everything this week, & also I think have a sale on.

Did you sign up to bounty? You should be getting a new voucher soon, & if you collect (the rather pathetic) pack from asda, you get a voucher for £5 off a £10 baby clothes spend.

Baby clothes bundles on ebay can be good value, if you are able to pick them up, otherwise postage is normally high.

went into sainsburys today and took advantage of the 1/3 off offer :D

As mum of 4, my kids have anything that is going! I buy from car boot sales, NCT sales (check NCT website - nearly new sale - there are generally 2 each year in most areas), charity shops, bundles out of local paper and if any of my friends or family are getting rid of anything then I offer to buy their 2nd hand stuff - most just give it to me! I then recycle it back to someone else when we have finished with it.

I am quite choosy about what I buy and tend to stick to hardly worn and well known brands eg Gap, Next, Mothercare, M and S etc.. when buying 2nd hand, as most items have to do at least 3 of my DS's. My DD often wears the boys clothes that are unisex - well kind of! - not sure how much longer I will get away with this as she is 3 now!

I shop carefully and buy in summer and winter sales a size larger for the following year and put away. I often buy a larger size anyway as that way I will get a couple of years use out of it!

Also I have become very careful about what I spend on myself and I am much less frivolous about my clothes shoping and I only buy something to replace a worn out item.

    Good Luck!

Peacocks can have some alright stuff. It seems that they have more for girls than boys though. There is no Peacocks in Ireland, so whenever I have to buy a present for a new baby I go to Peacocks and get something there. :D
