Cheapest new baby clothes?

Hi,

Just wondering if anyone has any tips on the best place to get good but cheap baby clothes? My little one has just grown out of his 3-6 months clothes, some of which have never been worn! I usually buy from Tesco, but wondered if anyone knew of better bargains out there...? I am not averse to charity shops, but my local charity shops rarely if ever have baby clothes, and when they do, it's even rarer they're in the right size!

Thanks in advance

JJ

Just saw a sainsbury's ad offering 1/3 off all baby stuff, incl clothing. I guess that is only on for a week.

Ethel austin were offering 20% off everything this week, & also I think have a sale on.

Did you sign up to bounty? You should be getting a new voucher soon, & if you collect (the rather pathetic) pack from asda, you get a voucher for £5 off a £10 baby clothes spend.

Baby clothes bundles on ebay can be good value, if you are able to pick them up, otherwise postage is normally high.
  • when people posts questions like this everyone always recomends primark for baby clothes but i truly belive this is false economy they dont have half as much selection for boys as they do girls and i find that thre stuff is small and offten shirnks when you wash it meaning it out grown even faster, i'd second the asda recomendation well priced and good quality my son is now two and their clothes have (so far) withstood everything hes thrown at them

Sainsbury's kids clothes are great-i brought some lovely things for my little boy only the other day from there. Also matalan is quite cheap but they have a good range. Oh and Asda! havent had much luck in primark as i have a boy and there isnt a lot of choice (especially for elliot as hes only in 0-3's and they seem to have more choice for older kids).

  • Do you freecycle? Might be worth doing a wanted for the size you're after. People are always offering outgrown baby clothes on there. You could always offer some of your smaller baby clothes at the same time as well.

  • Asda is good and have some lovely things.
I don't believe and I never did that two wrongs make a right
  • i would also recommend asdas - my lo has poor weight gain so she wears each size for ages

asdas always look as good by the time she grows out of them as they did at the beginning

also keep your eyes out for blue cross sales at debenhams (70%) - the clothes end up cheaper than primark but are fantastic quality and last ages - i always buy for the next 12 months when its the sales ie in the summer there i bought her clothes for next summer

matalan has some nice boys clothes, not too pricey either (from memory a pair of jeans is about £4ish).

i agree with the comments about primark-they dont have much choice for boys, and although some of the stuff is quite nice it often shrinks when you wash it.

i tend to buy a lot of ds's clothes from ebay in bundles, like next clothes etc. i bought a huge bundle of clothes earlier this year for £25- there was about 80 items in there and from memory i think there were 3 things i didnt like, so total bargain
    2011- new year, new start.

  • Hi, supermarkets are all good but also primark. Ive just today been down to our local shopping centre and I have never really bought much in Marks and spencer because of the cost and found the range a bit old fashioned but today I went in and they have some lovely bits really cheap. Some stuff is still dear but I got him some jogging bottoms for £5 a fleece for £5 combats £7 I though this was good value and all feel lovely and soft and good quality.

Ebay. You will be surprised (or maybe not!!) how many first time parents buy everything Next sells, but don't actually get round to putting little cherrub into them! For bundles you can't go far wrong, but do check them all over and set your price - some can go for daft prices and some really overcharge on P&P for fewer items.

I have done this for all my kids (barr the eldest) and haven't been let down with what I have recieved yet!
