I am going to see how things go. He has agreed to give me the money in cash so I will only release the car and documents once this had been paid into my account.

If he was trying to con me would he agree to this?

Agree about good con men seeming genuine.

I'll keep everyone posted on how it goes. I am not going to do anything stupid like accept a cheque etc. Cash only or no deal to be safe.

If they are con men they are very good. The guy came down from Ipswich to Ashford in Kent just to view the car.

Why would a bulgarian buy a car from the uK when theres countries that are nearer which would have less or no export costs

This still sounds far too fishy to me, I just hope for your sake that it turns out OK.

    I have my doubts.

    Hi everyone,

Just to give you an update. The deal turned out okay. His friend came down from Ipswich and the car was transferred into his name and he is going to deal with exporting it to his friend in Bosnia.

    Cash is in the bank.

Glad I didn't assume it was a con as cars really aren't shifting at the moment and I don't think I would have sold it otherwise.

As long as you take all the precautions that's fine. Sadly many don't.

Excellent result - but I still don't understand why a guy in Bosnia would want a right hand drive car.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.

    Its a Peugeot 406 Coupe.

Price £2000. For sale on Pistonheads.

The guy said the car is for his dad as his dad used to have a Automatic Peugeot and wants another one.

The guy emailing me and his friend run the 205gtiforum club thingy so they are into their Peugeots.

    CyberNik and Graham?

Yes, I'd deal with them, oh you did. Glad the deal went well :)
