I want broadband !! ( I have at the moment 3 mobile broadband which is crap, due to previous landlord didn't want to let us have a landline). Now we moved so I the first thing I will call BT to put a landline (I hope it wont't cost nothing to install as someone in the same house already has a landline)
Looking over the broadband offers I am tempted by Bethere £18 for up to 24Mb or O2 (not decided if I will feel the difference between the up to 16Mb or up to 20Mb -- £15 or £20).
The money it's not a big difference (£3 more or less a month won't make me rich), I have read here good reviews about O2 ... cant search Be because I came up with lots of results... they picked a stupid name)
So, I would really appreciate some help. I want the best broadband (or almost the best). (I live in London so i should have coverege for all)

it's the same company, same equipment, different call centres. O2 cheaper, UK call centre, lower speeds 'technically', longer contracts. Be, slightly more money, shorter contracts, foreign call centre, higher speeds and more user control on connection settings(tweaks).0

You need to checkout my Be and/or o2 Home Broadband features comparison/summary document. You'll find it (just 150KB PDF) at
http://cid-99aa6cf1226facfe.skydrive.live.com/self.aspx/o2 Broadband -v- Be There Broadband
Can discuss it more in the ThinkBroadband forums for Be and o2 - see the links in the PDF.
Some of your issues/questions
- adding another BT to a line to a property is still charged - though often you can get it heavily discounted IF you commit to a BT line/calls package for a period of time - such moneysaving tips usually raised on here
- Be/o2 can't magic performance out of your line - it will all depend on the line length (and quality) as to what speed COULD be obtained, and then of course what package/speed you pay for
- London numbers aren't necessarily able to get service from broadband providers as a few exchanges have physical issues (ie crammed full already) and hence you can't get more kit into them.
Worth putting the existing landline number into the o2 website to see what they ESTIMATE the line will support (as o2 only list the package(s) that would be appropriate based on the BT line length database).
Checkout the comparison document and potentially ask questions in the ThinkBroadband forums where there are hundreds/thousands of existing subscribers to share their views/experiences.

Thanks. I didn't even know that they are the same company. I read on the forum that people are pretty satisfied with both of them...
You give me bad news that I have to pay for the install of BT landline: £124.99 !!! wow...
Unfortunatelly I can't find out what the landline number here is. I saw bills from BT every month in the post, but when I asked the guy who has it seems to think that broadband (and other new stuff like digital TV) are something bad... and "they" can "see you" with them  (conspiracy theory) -- So I'm really afraid that I will pay a fortune for a landline and discover that I won't have good speeds anyway...
Is it worth thinking to get a Virgin cable broadband. They say on the website that it's available on my postcode and the up to 20MB is £29 ???0 -
Or switch your mobile to 02 and pay £7.50 for unlimited (subject to fair usage policy) data.
