It would be good to state the different needs before the list. Our needs now are very different to when we had 3 small children. Now it is two adults and one quiet dog.
I`m also in a new build with two en suites, one bathroom and one cloakroom (and yes we got there by money saving all through our life).
Used bathroom facilities get a thorough steam clean every week and loos a clean every day
Bedroom gets a thorough clean and bedding change evey week or so
washing on an as needs basis. No outside drying facility so must all be dried inside. I put airer in the bath and use that as the radiator is always on there when the ch is on. Fan on from time to time. Works a treat
Kitchen surfaces cleaned several times a day. Floor every day. I do a lot of home cooking so get a bit messy
Dusting maybe weekly
vacuuming every few days. Much less these days since getting my fab sebo cleaner
Ironing as and when and not more than once a week.
Household with kiddies have a much harder time. Don`t worry too much about the housework. The children won`t remember the dust when they are grown up. They will remember the time spent doing things with their parents0 -
The one thing I make sure is that the kitchen is clean, thats where you will pick up most things like food bugs etc if you don't. Bathroom and loo next, one thing I make sure you wipe over is the loo door handle, unless its in your bathroom they haven't washed their hands before touching it!0

 Mrs MATH wishes I wasn't so particular so she could live like a slob without me complaining about the mess she leaves everywhere!Life's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0 -
kiwichick wrote:Hmmmmmmmmm, let me think.........................kids aged 1, 2 and 3 seem to be the reason  Crumbs from biscuits/sandwiches, dirt from shoes not taken off in time (DH is to blame for this as well), bits of glitter etc from school, playdough sneakily taken from kitchen table to front room.....I could go on for days
Wow! All is now clear! Im surprised you dont cover your rooms in wipeable plastic - I know what kids of this age are like!!! Keep up the good work, they won't always be this age!0 -
In house:
Me (tidy-ish, clean)
Cat (very sheddy, clean)
Housemate (messy, not clean, doesn;t wipe feet as comes in)
Routine:
Hoover once a week/fortnight
Change bed once a week/fortnight if I forget or am busy
Dust about once in a blue moon!
Bathroom should be weekly but TBH ends up about once a month BUT I do wipe round more regularly, I just mean a proper scrub. Housemate has baths so wipes round bath every day (about the only thing she does)
Kitchen wiped down every day
Kitchen floor mopped when I can be arsed
...you mean there's nother stuff I should be doing?!?!?!?!
I am a housework !!!!!! and frankly I don't care cos I am too busy to do it more often and I don't really care if it's a bit dirty!!!:cool: DFW Nerd Club member 023...DFD 9.2.2007 :cool::heartpuls married 21 6 08 :A Angel babies' birth dates 3.10.08 * 4.3.11 * 11.11.11 * 17.3.12 * 2.7.12 :heart2: My live baby's birth date 22 7 09 :heart2: I'm due another baby at the end of July 2014! :j

We have a 2 bed flat with only 2 adults & no pets. Also all shoes come off at the top of the stairs before even coats come off.
Washing up - daily, immediately after finished dinner otherwise the piles grow
Clean kitchen surfaces - daily - immediately after cooking
Mop kitchen floor - when it needs it, maybe once a month
Vacuum - alternate fridays, with extra vacuum after a meal that used chopsticks
Clothes washing - wednesdays and then hung on radiators to dry - if I hang it in the garden it will be stolen
Ironing - very very rarely when handwashed stuff needs it
Dusting - once a month or before big get together (i.e this weekend)
Bathroom - wednesday or friday if we have people over for the weekend
Bed - changed fortnightlyStill wish I could buy a TARDIS instead of a house!0 -
Hi there
I am a bit hit and miss to you could try https://www.flylady.com she has interesting things to say and she does not cost anything. She teaches baby steps to cleaning in 15 or 5 minute chunks.
I am not out at work and I still cannot get all that I want done. We have too much stuff!!!!!! :snow_laugNobody is perfect - not even me.0 -
I give the whole house a blitz about once a week and change the bedding every other week (I alternate between the kids beds and my bed). Then I just wipe over the kitchen once a day and do the clothes laundry whenever there is a full load. I don't iron, I've never ironed a thing and never owned an iron in my life :eek:2008 Comping ChallengeWon so far - £3010 Needed - £230Debt free since Oct 20040

I have a 45 min blitz every morning before kids get up, this includes any leftover washing up, wipe down kitchen tops, mop floor(3 dogs - lots of muddy paw prints) put washing on, clean bathroom if necessary, clean loo, make bed, vac downstairs and if necessary upstairs.
I find little and often is best.Keep clutter down.I damp dust and vac once or twice a day due to having 3 dogs and 2 teenage boys! :snow_grin .
I iron every other day but try and minimise this by folding well!
Bedding gets changed at least once a week, cant stand unfresh bedding.
Towels daily.
Windows when necessary.I also deep clean about once a month in different rooms.
As i said before the best thing to do is to keep on top of it.If you let it slip its hard to get tidy etc again. :rudolf:Do what you love :happyhear0
