As mentioned in this forum earlier, Saga has now announced its latest fixed rates for 6 and 12 months:

Not the best, but if you're 50+ and trying to spread cash around, might be worth considering.
Remember this is part of Bham Midshires and therefore HBos.

The Saga Fixed Rate Savings Accounts are available only to UK residents aged 50 and over. Lines are open 8am–8pm, Monday to Saturday.

Thanks, I guess not many people under 50 would want to open it anyway. Thats why they are not restricting the account to people over 50.0

I have just started (today) to open the 1 year fixed monthly at 6.8%, have been told when the pack arrives open it with £1 then contact them when the icesave cash arrives, just hope the rate stays the same until it does.
