Tesco Direct lost my order.

I ordered a giant peppa pig from Tesco direct last week - I also ordered a giant george pig (peppa's brother) and a sim card (so I could get free delivery) I ordered premium delivery and picked delivery between 11 and 1 today. I have just gone online and next to the 2 giant pigs it says "Sorry there is a problem with this item. Our customer services team will contact you shortly" So I have called them and they are saying that the delivery driver has lost the items! I dont know how he could have lost both of them but I smell a rat as it just so happens that these items are now out of stock.

I was just coming on here with a similar vent...so I will add to yours if that is ok?
Over a week ago I ordered a little likes cozy coupe and a sim card (for free delivery) the sim card turned up last monday and no sign of the car. i left it until friday to give it a chance to turn up as I hadnt asked for next day delivery or anything so I rang them. I had an e-mail saying it had been dispatched the previous saturday (?!) they said they would chase couirer firm and get back to me the next morning by phone. I heard nothing. rang them yesterday. They said it was now at depot and would go on van today so I would get it today. Nothing turns up! I just rang them and got through then cut off...and put through to someone else only to explain and give details again...(huge sigh! very fed up!) She says it has gone to wrong depot and they cant find it!? So they will re-order but I point out they are now out of stock so she says they will have to refund it. i got alot of hassle and still no toy!!??? and a sim card I dont want!?
I am sorry but I think a lot of toys seem to be going 'missing' ??!SAHM Mummy tods (born Oct 2007) and dd (born June 2010)0 -
I had a bad expericence with tesco direct when it first started up and won't go near them now.
We had ordered something to be deleivered to store and were given the date and time that it would be there. Went to pick it up (nearest store that did this was 15 miles away) only to find that the goods hadn't arrived. Apparently this was our fault as we hadn't waiting for a phone call telling us it was there.......although there was no mention anywhere when we ordered telling us to wait for a phone call!
Customer services were very unhelpful and unsympathetic - my problem wasn't that the items were late, just that we hadn't received any communication to tell us that they would be. So cancelled order and have never used them again as a matter of principle.Mummy to Thomas born April 27th 2010 8lb 5oz0 -
Hmmm it seems its quite a regular occurrence, all these items getting robbed. Maybe if they secured them a little better, as you assume Asda do.You know the van could have been robbed, anything! people always think underhand tatics, but if it was asda it would be "ZOMG its ok"
Most people who buy a product, due to be delivered, whether Tesco, Asda, Argos, or even Ebay, dont assume its been robbed in transit, they assume it will be delivered as and when it was listed to be. Are they being a little to optimistic?:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Is it being a little too optimistic thinking the UK's largest retailer will never have any mistakes?0 -
No I'm saying if it was any other company you would be like "oh its ok its because of..." now because its tesco you slaughter themHmmm it seems its quite a regular occurrence, all these items getting robbed. Maybe if they secured them a little better, as you assume Asda do.

Thats the point edna, if it was ANY store, if I ordered goods that werent delivered when specifically stated, I would scream just as loud. I dont slaughter Tesco for being Tesco, Asda for being Asda or Ebay for being Ebay. Are you assuming just because its "Tesco" we should give them the benefit of doubt? Are they in someway "superior" to any other supermarket chain?:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

Just look at the slaughter threads for tesco they are worse than any other chainThats the point edna, if it was ANY store, if I ordered goods that werent delivered when specifically stated, I would scream just as loud. I am not saying treat them different like most of you do with the slaughter threads, if I see an asda/littlewoods anyone else thread I hope you slaughter them as much as anyother retailer
*for the purposes of fairness0 -
I see all these "supermarket" wars going on in the threads. I could just as easily ask if its a coincidence whenever anyone has a complaint against a supermarket, the majority on the threads are complaining about "Tesco". There isn't just one Tesco in the UK.
I shop at Tesco, Morrisons and Asda, choosing to get the best deals from either. I don't have a preferred choice, yet some people do.
Tesco, Asda, Morrisons, get treated no different to the way a customer feels treated. If its bad press aimed particularly at one chain, by the majority of customers, I would be more inclined to think that particular chain has a problem, more than the other chains seem to have. Either that, or the other "chains" have got some form of sencorship deal with MSE,....which isnt very likely.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A
