I notice that you're quite new to posting on here. In the NICEST possible way here's how to search forums before you produce duplicate posts.

type 1st + stamps + superdrug in the search box (top right of page). Click the forums dot, then click search.

You will then find that there is an MSE thread already on this. Good luck!

Thank you, didn't know you could do that :-) Didn't realise savers was the same as superdrugs either, just put in my postcode on mutualpoints to find my nearest superdrug offering points and it came up with the address for savers!!

Yes I bought some yesterday (Sunday 23rd), although the discount didn't come off automatically.

I was going through the checkout when I saw the offer advertised on the "dividers" that you put on the conveyor belt between your shopping and other people's goodies.

Seeing as it said ALL stamps I immediately decided this was an opportunity to get some discounted 2nd class stamps (that aren't on offer at Superdrug) and some 1st class ones (saving a planned trip for some from Superdrug)

SA advised me to get them at the kiosk, which I did.
Noticed the prices on the till display as they were being scanned and thought "I wonder when the discount comes off".
Queried it and customer services got involved, and questions were asked (like was it just the decorative "Christmas specials" and not the normal Gold 1sts & Blue 2nds), and after a lot of coming and going, decided that the offer didn't actually start until today. (Monday 24th)

So with that someone was despatched to remove all the advertising for the offer from all the "dividers" and any posters around the store.

A supervisor re-scanned the stamps I wanted and applied a manual discount.

HOWEVER, she said "I'm sure this was supposed to start LAST WEEK" and looking at one of the dividers said "Yes, the offer start date code in the corner is last week"

I looked and she pointed out the "code" which included "1011" (10th Nov) and I said "That's not last week that the week before"

So I don't know what's going on - whether it 's supposed to be just this week or should have already been running for 2 weeks at this point, whatever IF you do go to get some from Sainsbury's just check you get the discount.

AND YES it does include ALL stamps; 1st, 2nd, LARGE, decorative/festive or ordinary normal Gold/Blue ones, that they sell !

Did I see 5% off 1st class stamps in Superdrug for 1 - 14 February 2009??
It was a small photocopy on a shelf. Could be wrong but could be right. Will check it out Mon 9th.

Just to update .....

Found an even better offer in MAKRO - almost TWICE AS GOOD !

ONLY available on "nomal" (not "Large") 1st class "Gold" stamps

They are doing a "pack" of 60 (that's SIXTY) at almost 9% discount

You actually get 10 books of 6 for just £19.69 - should cost £21.60

so that's a saving of £1.91 - approx 8.84% discount - or OVER 3p per stamp

Your 1st class stamp (currently worth 36p) available to buy at just 32.8 pence each
