As far as I've been able to ascertain, cavity wall insulation is NOT included in current buiding regulations, so they don't have to do it - as I found out to my cost.
I am pursuing the matter with the builders of our house (Bovis) as their staff told us (verbally) that it was insulated. More to the point, I don't believe the house could achieve the energy rating they quote without it. I'll keep this board informed of progress.
would be fascinated to hear how you get onsave energy - stay in bed x0 -
i have now had an inspector from an insulation firm come round. he said that there is evidence of some insulation but not right across the wall. he said for us to contact the builders and ask them in writing to clarify what they have actually done. we will then see if it matches the inspection
hmmmmsave energy - stay in bed x0
