Advice Needed: Ebay won't remove Negative. (please read)

Hi,
We have nearly 700 feedbacks and all positive, but someone today left negative feedback.
I didn't understand why, there was no reason for it, so I called them and they realised their error, they had placed it on the wrong account.
They have followed the negative with the following
"rip off"
27-Oct-08 12:18
I have contacted the buyer about this and await their reply.
Now what I think he's done is the person he intended to leave negative for he has given positive. So ebay say they wont be able to do anything if thats the case.
I don't understand how when it's in black and white that the customer has made a mistake, and this negative could damage our sales.
Are ebay aloud to leave this negative even if the customer says it's a mistake.
Just want some advise on this.
Thanks
Simon

Try the new feedback revsion tool - buyers can amend their comments if they have been left in error.

Great, I have sent them the request.
What happens with this? can they amend this to positive? would this be removed as a negative?
Thanks for your help0 -
Not sure how it works mechanically, but there is an example of how it looks at the end in this thread - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1246697<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0

So what happens with the request?
Do they get an e-mail, easy for them to follow?0 -

The mutual withdrawal function was "withdrawn" back in May with the rest of the feedback changes - http://pages.ebay.co.uk/help/sell/feedback-faq.html<--- Nothing to see here - move along --->0
