    Unsure why you would go to Platform with a £150 CCJ from 7 years ago. Must be something else. This personal loan you are paying a little less back every month. did it default? I fso, the only other lendesr I know who do adverse BTL is Beacon and money Partners.

    the annoying thing is it says it is suitable for mortgage and rental purposes!

    Exactly - I've had this before with The Mortgage Works most recently

    If they don't want to lend there is nothing you can do really.

    So best bet is to look at other options

    thanks herbie, im glad im not the only one then, annoying when you pay nearly £400 survey fee :(

    You could try and argue the point with the lender that the surveyor said it was suitable for lending purposes, and say that if they do not wish to proceed they should refund the survey fee

    That it was I got from TMW for my client when they did the same.

    by the way when the application was first given to them they were going to charge me a higher interest rate because of adverse, but when they checked me out they agreed that they would do it at their ordinary BTL rate!! - confused or what

    In that case I think you should look at other lenders - via a broker though, as if you can provide an up to date copy of your credit file they should be able to see what deals they could find to suit

    just spoke with my bank hsbc, they will consider a BTL mort for me. but would by credit history go against me with hsbc.
